Handmade Medium Mug (Island Oasis)

I first loved the colors... shades of aqua through deep royal blue all in one mug. Then the handle got my full attention. These are not small mugs and the handle can "make or break" a good mug for me. It must be comfy to hold and have room for a man's fingers. These mugs are very easy to hold for a man or a woman and they hold more than 8 oz. At least the size I buy. They do come in different sizes short, medium, and taller. I have a couple of the taller ones and they are perfect for a mug if soup. IN short, I LOVE these mugs and I recommend them highly.

I dropped this on hard wood floor and it did not break. High quality! It is big and heavy so good for serving and mixing granola and yogurt but to big if you're trying to keep your coffee hot longer.

After I ordered this I saw some bad reviews. I just received it today, it is beautiful, stable and a medium weight, not too heavy not too light.I really do like it, especially the indentation for my thumb. I will write another review in a month or two to let customers know how it holds up.

Wow! What stunning and well-crafted works of art - and functional, too! I was so happy with the first, purchased for appearance and because the flat bottom would work well with my cup warmer. Now adding to my original reasons to choose: size choices and comfortable grip.

It's larger than stated, and the shape is broader than depicted. The design is also not as appealing as the image. Considering the cost, I was extremely disappointed. Okay for soup, but that's it.

June 30, 2021 Update: It's been nearly 2 years since my review of this mug (Aug 2019), and it has held up perfectly. I am still very careful with it because it is handmade. I've changed my 4 stars to 5.Original review: This mug, Mystic Waters, arrived intact and it is as beautiful as the photos. The aqua color at the top edge is the color of the entire inside of the mug. It is well made, although the bottom isn't perfectly flat so there is a small rocking motion (hence 4 stars instead of 5). I bought this one and Ocean Tide at the same time; Ocean Tide does not rock. The color at the top edge of Ocean tide is the color of the entire inside of the mug (a chocolate brown). The handles feel good in my hand (three fingers fit easily without being crushed together). I ran my fingers over both of them and there were no chips or burrs that I could find, nor could I see any cracks in the glaze. The mug walls are not as thick or as sturdy feeling as I had expected, so at this point, I am not aware as to how they will hold up with use, or how fragile they actually are. So far I have used them for coffee and have microwaved water in them for tea. They are both signed by the artist on the bottom.

I bought it as a gift for Father’s Day and he loves it. He says he’s can feel the love someone put into making this mug because it fits his hand perfectly and the size is perfect for a cup of coffee in the morning. He uses it everyday and appreciates that it was crafted by people.
