Clean, crisp, fresh, tasty - a superior lager.
Born in Wrexham, Wrexham Lager (and Border bitter and mild) was my teenage pint. After the sadness when it seemed the beer might go the way of Border and disappear, it is fantastic that it’s not only back, but better than ever. The current draft lager, if you’re ever in Wrexham, is crisp and clean and fresh, and this Export version, although stronger than the draft you find in the pub, is still just as crisp and clean and fresh. I bought a case of 24 and it worked out at a little less than £2.20 per 330ml bottle. More expensive than the cheap Budweiser and the like from a major supermarket, but this is a superior beer with a less sweet, more continental flavour - not surprising since this is, essentially, a 19th century German beer but made with Welsh water. My opinion is likely coloured by nostalgia and gratitude to the independent brewery for restoring Wrexham Lager to the world through this bottled Export variation, but nevertheless I think this is an absolutely lovely beer. I thoroughly enjoyed it in the 1970s and I can still enjoy it today. Unfortunately, it’s no longer 23p a pint, so if someone could perhaps work on that...Highly recommended!

Taste.
The taste is great. I was born in Wrexham and drank the original Wrexham lager on draught. This bottled lager is very palatable.
