This book is well written and honest. I enjoyed reading this truthful book and found it very inspiring that a child had so much strength in her faith. She was strong and courageous and an inspirational.

One of my favorite accounting of the WW2 atrocities. The war in scene through the eyes of a preteen child and still holds a feeling of innocence. Yet, you get a feel for the times and the prevailing attitudes in the land. And though Simone's faith is challenged, she never loses faith in God. Truly a touching and inspiring story.

I love this book so much that I bought one as a present for a teenager. It is a story new generations would benefit of reading. And this version is very appropriate for teens.

Great story! A real-life account of a young girl's experiences with Nazi Germany. Her point of view was different from many of the other real-life accounts I have read. Each person's experiences are valuable as we look back to that very traumatic time in human history . I highly recommend this book, but take note there is both an unabridged and abridged version. Either is worth the read, but I did very much enjoy the extra details added to the unabridged version.
