Q: I have a quadra fire 3100 wood stove will this work to replace the factory blanket above the baffles?

I have a Quadrafire 5100 and it was the same composition and thickness as my original blanket. It was actually much bigger than I needed, so I just cut it to size and slid it above the baffles.

Q: Can this be in direct contact with charcoal

I wouldn’t advise it. The ash and direct contact will degrade the qualities of the product.

Q: Can this be used in the chimney to prevent air from coming into the house? I have a 8" chimney and 4" liner for pellet insert and feel draft.

This will not stop air from coming into the house, but it will very likely decrease significantly the amount of air coming in. If you are trying to make it air tight, this isn't what it was intended to do. But will probably block a draft, especially if you are able to make several layers.
