Really helpful!
This workbook has been a tremendous help to me in learning to read and write Japanese. There are whole pages devoted to each character, with many characters for you to trace over first and then write on your own. I found there was more space allowed than I needed, even for the characters I had the most difficulty forming. There are word practice sheets, which help you learn the words as well as practice writing the characters. And when I forget a character as I'm working on something else, it has a full page at the front devoted to all the characters and their variations, so it's easy to look up.

good for repetition
Bought this along with some other Kana material because I have trouble remembering info and really wanted physical material to help hammer in and memorize them all. Works good, the pages don't bleed and there's plenty of space to write.

A Great practice book for learning japanese
This is a great workbook for those individuals learning Japanese. I was more than a little surprised with how large the book is, than what I was expected it to be. The book's size is almost comparable to some standard educational textbooks, although not as thick, which is very nice. Also the flash cards are a welcome addition. I grabbed this book along with the other two to aid in my practice of the Japanese language learning endeavor. The paperback versions of the book(s) are at a decent price of under $10 per book, which is a great deal and even though I photocopy sections to work on personally, the book is inexpensive enough that if you want to write in it and/or need to reorder another copy it won't hurt your wallet to do so. I would give fair warning that there is a couple of wrong definitions in the book, so be aware. Other than that, it's worth getting and I definitely recommend it.

It's good for writing practice
I got this book to practice writing for my Japanese classes since my class basically told me to figure it out on my own. I was excited for the flashcards so I wouldn't have to make my own, but they're garbage. You can see right through it even if you don't have a light behind you. I ended up have to make my own anyway.

Large book, not quite thick enough paper.
If you buying this for the flash cards, don't bother, you can see the answer through the thick paper which is somewhat annoying. They don't give you equal practice space for the vocab words so you will need a separate note book to copy into.Doesn't have space to practice Diacritical marks.Others have complained about the spine in the way, which is annoying, but it is a large book so can't get around it without dividing it up.Good enough paper that it's easy to erase.Sorry for the average review, but its a middle of the road book.

Quality Material
Just received the book today. I think that the print and quality of the paper is good. This is perfect for beginners like me who want to start with their hiragana and katakana since it shows the step-by-step stroke in writing. Also, the paper can be easily cut out if you want to photocopy the pages. The last pages can also be cut-out to make flash cards.

Terrible quality
Amazon seem to be storing these in a damp warehouse as mine arrived terribly warped and twistedEDIT, all replacements received are also ruined.
