Think I followed a link from a top 10 hoping rods video but glad I did.Does a great job of honing my knifes.

Great value
Having used the steel for the first time. It certainly does a fantastic job in honing my knifes. Time will tell. So far all good, no complaints and great purchase.

will it last?
I use the sharpening steel daily. So far it is very effective at producing a very sharp edge on the knife I use for most things (Damascus steel). My concern is that the steel will become smoother and less effective within a few months - there are signs of this tendency already. The description seemed to imply it was a German product but the box says made in China.

An excellent piece of kit. You can feel the bite of the steel as you sharpen your knives. Very regularly used as the wife insists on cutting the vegetables on a glass surface!

Sharp knives
Very effective at sharpening up knives - does leave scratches on the flat of the blade if not careful but probably me being inept so not unhappy.
