Venetian loafer

I Would Not Recommend.
I've worn these shoes on two occasions with very minimal walking and already noticed they are wearing on the front. This has never happened to me with a shoe before, but every step I take, when the shoe flexes and the toe compresses, the leather scrapes on the ground causing it to wear down. It's already worn thinner than the other leather on the shoe and I'm sure within a few more wears, will become a hole. It's almost like the sole of the shoe is too small. If you plan to wear them regularly, I would recommend purchasing another shoe.

Falls apart fast
These shoes looked great when I bought them. They felt a little small at first, but stretched to the right size in no time. They also fell apart in no time. They wore in a way I have never had shoes wear before. After about 2-3 months of wearing them once a week they ended up with holes in the toe area. On the very front of the shoe they have holes, on both shoes. I have never had this happen. Its not like I go around dragging my toes on the ground. Very poor quality.

Replacement for old pair that split at the toe- so far so good this time
I owned a pair of these in 2018 and the toe split within a few weeks as the other reviews indicated. I’ve been searching for a replacement with no luck, so I gave these another shot. So far so good; the leather is different now and softer, so hopefully the toe won’t split this time! Other than that issue, some of the best looking slip on shoes I’ve ever owned.

Absolutely Fantastic Loafer for Daily Wear
I am extremely pleased with my Frye loafers. I have a nice pair of Johnston & Murphy dress shoes when I need to dress up, but my daily work routine is pretty casual. Slacks, dress shirt and tie...no need for a jacket but maybe once per week. So these loafers see 4x a week wear for at least 10-11 hours a day. I am a solid 9 in everything and ordered a 9 - they fit perfectly. A little snug out of the box, but fully molded to my foot within 3-4 long days at work. Now they slide right on and fit my foot like a glove.I know this is Frye's cheaper line, made in China as opposed to their Mexico facility, but one cannot tell by these shoes. Absolutely top-notch leather and fit & finish. A solid wood heel then wrapped in a comfortable tread. They actually sound more like a dress show on hard flooring. For the price (around a hundo) nothing came close. Ecco makes a very similar shoe, but it was priced almost 50% more. There is lots of discussion on sizing and many advise to order a size down. I would STRONGLY caution one against that as I could not have fit in a 1/2 size down. Mine were snug at the proper size and stretched to fit my foot perfectly. After a week at work, they fit perfectly and ceased stretching.I polished them for the first time this weekend and absolutely love the slight color change. This is a rugged "saddle" type leather. Scrapes and scratches look good on these shoes and add character. A good polish will blend them in and add to the look. Very well done Frye!

Fell apart within 2 months! Looked good, but it's over...
Fell apart within 2 months of average wear (3-4 days per week). Stitches are not real, and the sole started separating from the back, as well as from the sides of the front.Otherwise:* reasonably comfortable, I had more comfortable loafers (Lacoste, etc.) for much less price tag.* looks pretty good.* the sole is thin enough to look chic, yet strong enough to support wellJust not worth the price given that it fell apart within 2 months of average wear (3-4 days per week).

Comfortable and durable
Once broken in, these shoes are great. At first I thought I should have ordered a wide, but the more I wear them, the more they adjust to my feet. They are very true to size once broken in.I generally wear Sperry Top Sider Gold Cup driving mocs, but the quality of them has gone downhill quickly, and I find myself having to replace them in about a year.FRYE, on the other hand, uses durable, quality leather that I do not believe will wear through with repeated use. The areas on my Sperry shoes that are the first to show wear (outside leather near the toes) do not seem to have any issues after almost 4 months of wearing these FRYE shoes, whereas my Gold Cups would have worn stitching and weakening of the leather in that area.I absolutely recommend these shoes.

Design Flaw
I loved these shoes. The style is great and fit as expected. The problem is that there is a design flaw that forms a crease at the toe... which eventually wore a hole in the tow after about 8 months. I paid too much for that to happen. I thought a brand like this would be more reliable but not the case. Please try a different style unless you have money to burn.

Frye sizing is a dice roll
I've gotten slippers in the past that fit perfectly; shoes; boots. In the last couple of years, the sizing varies to unwearably small to 3/4 inch too long at the toe but otherwise OK.With these shoes, it's the length. Plus, suede doesn't really provide structure. but at least i can wear them.

Five Stars
Really nice shoes and great price. Can't weigh in on longevity, waiting for warmer weather before wearing.

Excellent Leather, even better deal
Amazon tends to be a little gold mine for things like these. A steal at the sale price.
