EZ PEN Retractable Pen Reel for Nurses, Teachers, Waitresses, Carpenters, Construction Workers, Contractors & Pros (Non-Stop Pro)

I ordered this item cause I had already purchased one, this item I do not recommend cause it doesn’t stay in place when you pull it. It slaps you in the face. I use my pens for markdowns & it would hang where I left it when I pulled this one doesn’t. I am not happy with this product, very defective!!

I’m always forgetting my pen. I lose them. Set them down somewhere and completely forget them. If I have 5 pockets it will always be in the 5th. With this neat little thing I can actually be somewhat together, well at least in the writing/signing department. I use a Bic crystal pen. I like the way it writes. It fits in the rubber piece nicely. It looks as though just about any standard pen would fit in it as well as some larger widths. The cord is extremely strong and seems like it could hold quite a bit of weight. There’s a problem. Not with this product. Rather it’s with me and my forgetfulness. I wear my retractable pen holder on a badge case on a lanyard that I wear around my neck. I keep forgetting to put the cap on my pen after using it and when I move around my arm gets marked up. The pen tends to stay pointed to one side and it depends on what way you put it through the rubber piece. At least that’s the way it was on mine. I have it pointing to the left since I’m right handed so my left arm gets marked up. Yes my memory is a sieve I’ve lost the cap to my pen for the 10 thousandth time. I’ve marked up my arm quite a bit, and yes I will be getting a click pen very soon. I use this every day, multiple times a day. It feels like it’s going to last quite a while and I’m not just saying that. No cheese here.

I like that it's on a reel so I always know where it is. I DON"T LIKE that I can't retract it from the point I stop it on to write. I have to grab the string and keep pulling it all the way out before it will retract itself. This is annoying and I can see the string breaking with not too much use. Also, 10 bucks seems kinda expensive for what you get. Should receive 2 for that price. Also, the 4 color BIC pen JUST fits into it. Make sure your pen is skinny or you won't be able to use it.

In theory this works great, but it’s not $10 worth of quality. The metal backing that allows it to secure to anything snapped off while attaching it to a shelf that it had previously been fine on (it ended up in the way in the first spot and needed to be moved). I do understand that this is meant for clothing so I’m not terribly upset that it broke, but for $10 I’d expect it not to snap off so easily the second time it’s put somewhere.Additionally it would not retract. Immediately out of the box it just did not retract easily. You’d have to try multiple times, which often just meant pulling the whole cord out to try and get it to real back in. I imagine that this would be a massive hassle for anyone in the medical field (aka who this product is targeted to), luckily for me this was just supposed to make sure markers didn’t get lost at work, didn’t really matter if it didn’t real back in.The one thing I do enjoy about this however is that it does hold sharpies. I didn’t see any other product that was able to hold sharpies, so I was pretty excited that this one did. However I still don’t think that this product is $10 worth just because it can hold a sharpie.

Sadly, this company changed their overseas supplier. Prior to that change, this WAS every bit of a 5 star product. Now, in order to put extra money in the pockets of the owners of this company, this product has been fatally downgraded - to complete garbage. And, of course, without any of their savings being passed along to the buyer. Yes, for a slight price increase, you are able to purchase a completely inferior product - for more money than before! Yay! Everything from the retracting mechanism (that actually fully retracts only about 1% of the time), all the way to the rubber component that holds the writing utensil (which is nearly impossible to cram anything larger than a standard pencil into), to the tear-the-collar-off-your-shirt metal spring clip... the overall quality has plummeted. Now, you get less quality - for more money! Makes sense, right? No, actually it doesn't. Those who profited from this pitiful downgrade should be ashamed. If you are looking for a decent pen reel here, unfortunately, you're too late. Look elsewhere unless you want to waste your money on cheap garbage.

I’m a nurse and bought my first one in 2021, lasted me a little over a year and bought another that lasted me till just a few months ago. It was my favorite thing ever and I loved how you had the option to “pause” the badge reel in place so you could write with some slack and it didn’t just retract automatically until the second pull. Now the design is completely different and it doesn’t have that option. Looks like it made of cheap clear fishing line like monofilament if you’re a fisherman you know what I mean. Use to have a great durable black string before. Sadly had to return cuz it just retracts and doesn’t give you that feature anymore for comfortable writing and slack without the feel of it tugging away from you. I wish they would go back to the other design. Had to return. Such a bummer cuz it used to be a great product and I used to send the link to all the nurses to buy it.EDIT: the seller contacted me in regards to my disappointment with the “updated” version. They were amazing and addressed my concerns and said they are coming out with the old version again. CANT WAIT till that one is back. 100% worth the money and amazing seller!UPDATE 4/3/2024 This company is AMAZING. They sent me 3 of the new versions and they HAVE the old black string PLUS THE STOP FEATURE again!!! They’re just as good as the first version if not better! Lifetime customer here and I will go back to sending the link and recommending this product to all my nurse friends!

Does not stay extended as described

I use this attached to my shoulder with a light weight aluminum pen. The retraction is quick and complete. The extension is smooth. Line is strong fishing line no idea what tess. The line is long enough for personal use but not long enough to allow someone else to write on a document unless your practicaly hugging lol. Attachment to both the pen and the reel clip is very secure takes a great deal of effort to remove clip from clothes. The rubber around the pen can be positioned like a finger pad making any pen more comfortable and easier to use for people with bigger hands. Only down side is the retraction has no stop so you have to fight that little bit of retraction pressure while writing and that takes some time to get accustomed too.
