What a fantastic pizza oven
The Pacific Pizza Oven is the best. I admit I read the customer reviews, and encountered several reviewers stating that they were having problems reaching the internal temperature needed for certain food items to cook, and many were using aluminum foil to block the flue to keep the heat in. That being said I still went ahead and ordered this pizza oven.This pizza oven was purchased primarily to cook outside as the summer temperatures in our area during the summer reach 100+ degrees during the day. Therefore it was necessary to find an alternative way to cook without using the home oven. After several months of using this pizza oven everyday we have learned the ins and outs of cooking all types of items from full course dinners to baking desserts and finally bread. All without having to plug the flue.Here are some of the things that helped us to get the best results to any food item that we wanted to cook or bake. These tips worked for us and I hope they will work for you.1. I recommend purchasing an inside oven thermometer that will stand or hang from the top shelf in the pizza oven. These thermometers can be purchased at any department store for approximately $3.00 to $4.00. Hang it on the top shelf in the back of the oven where you can still see it from the front door through the glass. Note: this thermometer is only used to give you the internal oven temperature for informational purposes only, and not to be used as the primary thermometer for cooking or baking. The front door thermometer is to be used for that.2. Keep the pizza stone that comes with the pizza oven at the bottom of the oven. We have found that once the flames are lit the pizza stone will help diffuse the heat evenly throughout the oven from the bottom upward. By doing this you will still need another pizza stone to use for your pizzas. I use a regular round pizza stone purchased from a well known grocery store chain for $12.00 on sale that normally costs $19.99 off sale and it works great for pizzas and roles. Works just as good as an expensive stone.3. To best obtain the optimum temperature needed it is best to preheat the oven prior to baking or cooking.4. Use the door thermometer as the primary thermometer to reach the temperature that you will use to cook your food. Note: refer to Item 1 explanation of inside thermometer.5. You can tweak your temperature by moving the knob to raise or lower the temperature. Normally a lot of the food cooked or baked needs a temperature of 350 degrees. When the door thermometer reached the 350 degree mark we used a permanent marker and marked the panel with a dot so that at that setting the oven will be at 350 degrees. This works every time for us. We have found the front door thermometer to be very precise and accurate in the temperature readings.6. Keep in mind that you will have to adjust the baking time longer for your food items that you want to bake or cook. For example my pound cake recipe that produces double loaves calls for a setting of 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. We increased the bake time by 15 to 20 minutes. My pound cakes are baked in dark Teflon baking pans, and produce golden brown loaves that when tested with a toothpick inserted in center come out clean. You will have to experiment with your cooking and baking to achieve the results that you would like.7. I use an Emile Henry Cloche to bake artisan and no-knead bread in this oven. The results are fantastic! I get perfect bread every time.8. Important Note: for those of us that deal with 100+ degree temperatures during the day we have found that if you keep track of the front door thermometer you will find that it will sometimes rise above the temperature that you originally reached for your cooking or baking needs after you have put the food inside the oven. When this happens I will slightly open the door to vent the heat until the door thermometer again reaches the correct temperature to bake or cook the item then close the door and the temperature should stay on target for the rest of the cooking or baking cycle.We have used this pizza oven to cook, and bake everything to perfection. The secret is patience, and you will be able to tweak this oven to bake and cook wonderful foods.Please Note: the above tips to using this oven that we achieved were done by using LP gas. This oven also is equipped to hook up to natural gas. So you will have to tweak the oven to best suit your needs as the natural gas has different variables that will come into play.Oven comes well packaged, and there will be some assembly of the bottom stand if you purchased the model that has the stand. Assembly was very easy and took 1 hour tops. Oven is well built and of very good quality. We were very impressed with the quality and performance of the oven. Would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a pizza/roasting/cooking/baking oven experience.

Great Pizzas and Great customer service
I purchased a Pacific Living Pizza oven that was custom built into an Island for my backyard kitchen. When I received the oven, it wouldn’t stay lit, so I called and spoke to Rick who promised me that they stand behind their product and they will get it working perfectly. Rick and I spoke a few times but I couldn’t get it working correctly, so Rick just said he would send someone out to my house and make sure it works the way it should. And sure enough that’s what he did and the oven works perfectly.I can’t say enough about Rick and his product. They are a company that stands behind their product and they want to make sure the customer is happy and the product works as advertised. The oven itself works great. Two nights ago we had a few people over for pizza and everyone loved the results.I have always wanted a backyard pizza oven and now I have one and I couldn’t be happier. Thanks Rick for a great oven and being there. I look forward to many years of backyard pizzas!

Exceeded my expectations
We thought we would use this just occasionally for pizza, but it ends up being great for many other things too, and we're using it more often. Keeps the kitchen cooler during the summer-- another great plus! Cooks faster than inside oven does too, and it's easy to use and maintain. Just need to be careful of the inside of the door being hot, and learn how to adjust cooking times.
