Oberholtzer's Kentucky Sorghum, 42 Ounce

I grew up about 25 miles from the farm that grows the sugar cane and produces this wonderful product. My family would go to the mill in the fall, watch the process and purchase a case of jars that would last us until the next fall. The taste of the freshly processed sorghum was heavenly. That being said, the smooth, rich flavor will last for years on the shelf. When I moved away from home, I tried different brands of sorghum, but they were bitter, and none had the sweet, rich flavor of this "down home on the farm" processed sorghum. A couple of times when I visited my parents I brought home a jar in my checked luggage. I was thrilled to find it on Amazon. Thank you, Amazon for making my favorite Oberholtzer's Sorghum available to this Kentucky girl who has lived in Arizona for 40 years.

Ok, there is a very different taste to this, but incredibly tasty! Arrived extremely carefully wrapped in tons of bubble wrap, thank goodness! This is a large jar, larger than usually order. Now don’t have to worry about running out. Just used in my ‘cereal’ this evening, a little goes a long way. Strawberries, blueberries, banana, flaxseed, WeetaBix, in almond milk, and… sorghum syrup! Heaven…

I use sorghum in my coffee, and this brand has always been consistent in quality. I had to use a different brand while we tried to figure out a shipping problem, and the 2nd jug I ordered was dark and rancid. I was glad we were to resume receiving Oberholtzer's again. Amazon was great in reimbursing me for the rancid jug of the other brand.

Arrived with 1/3 of syrup sugared up . As week progressed 1/2 sugared up . Taste is good but quality is not . After heating to remove sugar it returned. I finally heated on stove . Now the crystals are back with about 1/2 of gt jar . So disappointing . All this reheating has made the molasses super thick and hard to pour . For the price of product I expected better quality . My family made molasses years past so I know what molasses should be .

I'm am and will continue to be a repeat buyer. I use it to sweeten coffee and on biscuits or corn cakes. I have a corn-syrup free diet (corn syrup and HFCS are my migraine triggers) and use non-processed syrups.Sorghum syrup is NOT molasses and does NOT have a burnt flavor like black strap. It does have a strong flavor and has a high mineral and vitamin content (research for specifics). For me, it complements coffee and things like baked beans. I prefer maple syrup for pancakes, but enjoy sorghum on biscuits, corn bread, and corn-cakes.NOTE on packaging: *some* amazon packaging centers are not padding it correctly for shipment. THAT'S ON AMAZON. If you get a damaged jar complain to Amazon and demand refund or replacement. I've had good luck SO FAR with this product, but have had problems in the past with other items. To Amazon's credit, they refunded and I reordered. That's mail order today.

Good taste and quality. Lid slightly leaked like it wasn't on tight enough.

This takes me bk to,sagum on biscuits,use just like we did w I was a young manlikes cookies,cornbread,it goes in and on just about anything, if u countey..its awsome thi k and tasty

This very good authentic kentucky sorgum. My grandfather raised sorgum cane so I was brought up liking it. This is the real thing with no additives.
