Vega XTS-XTP Half Helmet Ear Pad ()

I needed these on my half helmet since my ears, and hearing, took a battering over the years. Didn't expect much for the price but after putting them on the helmet straps, by velcro strip included, I was extremely impressed. They kept out the wind, let the music flow through and kept my ears cool in the direct sun.Tip: The velcro supplied on these will not keep it attached to the leather straps of the helmet so bring it to someone with a sewing machine to more securely secure it.

These pads seem to easily install in just about any DOT half helmet. Mine is a Street & Steel and it fits just fine, and comfortable too. Cuts down on wind noise at little (I ride with no windshield). The adhesive to the velcro strips could be better, though.

This seemed like a good idea for half helmet wearers. The problem arises when you actually try to attach the pads. There is an outer plastic portion of the pad which inserts between the shell and the liner of the helmet and velcro strips to attach the pad to the chin straps. One side of the velco is sewn onto the pad and the other strip of velco comes with a sticky back which you're expected to attach to the inside of your chin strap. This, in and of itself, would be bad enough, except the velcro sewn onto the pads is so poorly positioned it only marginally lines up with the chin strap. And this is a Vega product designed to be used with the Vega half helmet I have. If Vega had given this product a little more thought, I'm sure they could have seen the weakness in the design. Any time you wish to remove your pads, I am certain the velcro will stay attached to one another and the sticky backing would just peel away, possibly leaving a gooey residue on the chin strap. Why could Vega not have just included these pads with the helmet, and incorporated a much better attachment design. I have absolutely no intention of using these pads, nor taking the time to return them. Again, a good idea, poorly manufactured.Regards, ride safe.

Though it is not very cold in Florida, on the rare night that it is cold. My ride home from work is comfortable. Plus it cuts out a lot of wind noise. Fits my helmet. No complaints. very Happy with product.

The tabs were cut perfectly to fit into my hald helmet. Unfortunately, they wont stay on there. These come with velcro attached, but I never found velco that would stay attached to fabric or leather for long. First time I tried to un-velcro to reposition them, the velcro stuck to itself, but not the helmet. This means either you sew the velcro on forever, which could be irritating, attached the pocket forever, which defeats the purpose of having a half helmet, or position them everytime you use them without the velcro and remember to put them away when your done so you don't lose them. Bottom line, bulky, warm, and useful for winter. inconvenient for warm weather. And the people who say there is no speaker opening either got the wrong item or didn't look for the tiny velcro closed pockets at the top. Mine holds speakers fine.

I bought these ear pads for a motorcycle trip. At first, I was so happy I had purchased these. It was cold out and these kept my ears warm and kept noise to a minimum. After a few hours of wearing these, I couldn't wait to get them off. They irritated my ears. They seemed to put a lot of pressure on my ears after a few hours of wear. I think these would work well for short trips but definately not for long trips. I was so happy to get them off after the first day of travel, and I have never used them again. My helmet fits much better without these ear pads. I would rather deal with the cold than the pain these caused me.

Pads worked perfect on our half helmets. Ear speakers fit great for our bluetooth device. A must have to install headset and speakers on a half-helmet. I highly recommend this product.

So far these ear pads are working. The road noise is significantly reduced. The one problem I have is the ear pads straying in the helmet. The plastic pieces that slip the them into the helmet keep sliding out.

I can use those to hold my communication unit on my helmet. And when it's cold outside it keep my ear warm.
