Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this album. The music might be a little old fashioned for some tastes, but it is a piece of history that I have a good time listening to.

I'm not a british, but i enjoyed the d jubilee celebration and to have the cd of the london philharmonic orchestra thames dismond jubilee pageant, its a beauty. Would be an added jewel if comes with the choir!

The LPO continually provides excellent music. This enjoyable compilation is filled with a varitey of pieces that will please anyone. Enjoy!!!

It was a good cd but I wanted more Elgar and I only found two selections of him, a little disappointed...

Thanks to the BBC's concentration on pointless celebrity interviews, as well as uninformed commentary, music - which was trailed as a significant component of the Thames Jubilee Pageant - went largely unheard. This CD comprises studio performances of the sequence played by the London Philharmonic Orchestra as it progressed along the Thames, the pieces reflecting some of the landmarks passed - the Chelsea Physic Garden, the Savoy Theatre, Westminster, etc.Many of the pieces will be familiar, others less so. If, like me, you already have some of this music on separate discs, it is nevertheless good to have them together in this very enjoyable compilation, splendidly played under the direction of the excellent David Parry, as well as being a souvenir of a very special occasion.

This record by the London Philharmonic Orchestra contains the music played during the River Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant.The music is a beautiful cross-section through British history, From Pomp and Circumstance to James Bond. This CD is an absolute must-have!For me the icing on the cake would have been, if they had included the choir, that was standing on deck of the boat and braved the torrental rain while they sang their hearts out. For me the absolute highlight of the whole river pageant.

My friend lives in Barbados, and on the way back from holiday with her, I heard this on the plane. I ordered it immediately for her, who probably did not hear the concert. It was certainly enjoyable listening all night to the classical CDs on the plane (BA). On the way out, all I could listen to in the way of classical music was D.I.D. (Also BA)

I looked around for ages for a recording of the Radio 4 UK Theme, which I had enjoyed in the early am. This is just what i wanted and the other items are a welcome bonus. Most enjoyable.
