Tony Robinson has always been fascinated by the River Thames. It runs right through the place where he was born - London, and where his family have lived for 300 years. Now, hes going to get to know it even more intimately as he makes the 200-mile journey from source to sea to discover what makes it one of the greatest rivers in the world. Along the way, Tony immerses himself in the lives of those who work along the river, and explores how the Thames has shaped the history and culture of Britain.

Thoroughly Entertaining!
We loved Tony Robinson's journey down the Thames. It was educational and entertaining, and we loved his storytelling. Like his other documentaries like Time Team and Walking Through History, Tony wove an entertaining, educational and exciting story that kept us watching, and learning. It was also great to see that efforts are underway to make the Thames cleaner and full of life again, as we remember the bad old days when it was a filthy cesspool.

Hugely enjoyable DVD by Tony Robinson about the River Thames
A brilliant tv series so I was so pleased that it was available on dvd. Tony Robinson was very informative and walked the length of The Thames with information on many diverse aspects of river life, taking part in many of these himself on his travels. Hugely enjoyable and would recommend.

Don't usually like Tony Robinson but he has done a great job of his trip down the Thames. As a Londoner I appreciate what he's done. Glad I bought it

Disappointing documentary series about the Thames
Disappointing as although he used a lot of different means of transport I felt there was a huge amount of the river he missed there are about 5points of it be finds something to talk about between the source of the Thames and London.
