Love is in the air
I absolutely love this series by Ellie Alexander. Ashland Oregon is such a great town and these fictional characters seem real. Juliette had a hard time figuring out if having her estranged husband Carlos in Ashland with her instead out on adventures while being head chef on a cruise ship. Carlos seemed happy but she just wasn’t sure if he really could be in such a quiet little town. Quiet little towns are not always quiet and Ashland definitely has some exciting moments. This time around one of the beloved homeless men in town is murdered. Ellie keeps us guessing at every turn. Who could have done such a horrible thing to such a sweet man? How are all the suspects connected and what motive could they possibly have? Not only is there a murder to figure out but there are a few love stories to focus on as well. First, will Carlos and Juliette figure out what they want and live happily ever after? Will Thomas and Kerry get their romantic evening and perfect moment? Will Sterling and Stephanie move forward in their relationship? The end of the book brings us an exciting moment for Andy too.I can’t wait for the next book to see the whole town cheer him on.There may also be romance in Lance’s future. I highly recommend this book and this series to anyone who likes cozy mysteries and love stories. Another great thing about this series is the recipes for bake goods and coffee drinks at the end of the book. A great read and yummy treats. You can’t beat that.

A well disguised killer
Another great story. It’s nice to see action outside of Torte that was interesting and intriguing. I kept guessing until the end. I’m hooked on the characters and their stories in this book. It feels like you are part of the town.

Too Much New Didn't Work
First off, I love Jules Capshaw, and the Ashland, and Torte Bakeshop. I don't mind expansion, which was fine in the renovation of the original Torte, but the move to a whole new area, The Railroad District, which I don't remember from earlier books, was off-putting. As were the new characters, rushed relationships (although Jules and Carlos' story line was welcome -- no spoilers!), and the murder of a homeless man left a sour taste in my mouth. Think most of all, the author had problems "selling" the story to the reader. Ms. Alexander's writing shortcomings (she doesn't have many!) were front and center -- repeating herself, almost word-for-word, as to make the book longer, some dopey actions by the characters -- signing a real estate deal without having a lawyer look it over? She appeared rush and eager to get rid of this novel. I hope the next volume is of better quality.

Loved the book!
Torte, the Bakeshop owned by Jules Capshaw and her mother, is geraing up for Spring in Ashland Oregon. When the chance to rent a pop up space becomes available Jules and her team jump at the chance for a way to sell their delicious ice cream. Not all goes as planned though as an arsonist sets fire to the new space and a homeless man is found murdered nearby. Jules starts her own investigation into the murder and finds several suspects. Who wanted the homeless man, known as the Wizard, dead? Why would someone try and burn down the ice cream stand? You won't want to stop reading! Great characters and descriptive writing. And we finally find out what decision Jules makes regarding her love life! I definitely recommend this book!

A Charming Cozy
Spring is on its way in Ashland, Oregon, home of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and so is opportunity. Juliet, the proprietor of local bakery Torte, has a chance to expand the business. The Railroad District might be the next best step for expanding the business, or it might be a hotbed if crime. Juliet is ready to be open for business until larceny, arson, and murder make her think again. The latest in the Bakeshop mysteries is a delightful story with charming characters, a quaint setting, and delicious recipes.

More fun in Ashland
Another fun read in a good long running series. Anyone who loves cozies that revolve around food will be in heaven. Besides all the wonderful pastries, cakes, bread, pizza and soup, Torte is opening a seasonal location with ice cream, coffee and milkshakes. All goes well until a local homeless person is killed near her new location, Jules is on the case, so there will be plenty of action and lots of appearances by some of our favorite folks!

At last some resolutions and happy endings. It’s fun reading about a place I know well and adding in the vineyard business that has been my life for over 30 years made this even more fun.

Jumped the shark
I have enjoyed this series in the past but it has officially jumped the shark with this latest one. Too bad. It lasted for a good long run. I especially liked how the author usually avoided all the “agendas” usually shoved in Our faces by publishers , but the author has succumbed and the “gay agenda” is full on in this one.
