Works splendidly in the rain!
I bought these specifically for a trip to Chicago for Lollapalooza 2014. I injured my foot a couple weeks before Lolla and was pretty upset since this would be my first trip to Chicago and to Lollapalooza. Fortunately, it healed just enough that the doc put me in a boot 4 days before my trip. My brother told me it always ALWAYS rains at least one day during Lollapalooza. I asked my doc about a weather cover for the boot but he didn't have anything for me. Did some online searching and found this on Amazon. Price seemed decent so took a chance. It arrived quickly with Prime and was really easy to put on. So thankful for it since it rained cats and dogs on the last day of the festival. I actually saw 4-5 other folks at Lolla with walking boots on but none of them had a cover. They all stopped me to ask where I got it and I told them to check out Amazon. One girl tried to put a plastic bag around her boot but all that did was fill up with water and got her boot wet anyway. The only negative I can think is that this won't completely protect your boot if you step into a puddle like I did by mistake. (To be fair, this isn't designed for that anyway; not sure if there is anything designed for that). Probably have to buy an oversized rain boot if you need to be in that situation. This only covers the top and sides and those areas stayed completely dry. When I stepped into the puddle, the water got into the opening at the bottom and soaked my toe area. Again, not really a flaw since this cover isn't designed for walking in puddles anyway. The bottom is left open so the tread from your walking boot can contact the ground. I used to wear my boot around the house with a plastic bag around it to keep my floors clean (we take our shoes off at home) but nearly slipped once due to lack of traction. When I went in for a follow-up appt with my doc, he saw the cover and was really interested in it. Told him where to find it in case other patients ask about them. Fit my boot very well and the elastic was loose enough to not be constricting on my manly calves but snug enough to form a good seal. I didn't use the included velcro pieces but the cover has never been close to coming off in the three times I've used it. All in all, this was a great buy.

Confusing My Recovers Black (Short or Tall) (Weather or Protective) Cover Merchandising
I'm taking one star off really only for the confusing way this product is sold on Amazon. There are actually two Amazon Prime My Recovers products with weather proof fabric ("weather covers"). One is for short boots and comes in small, medium and large and the other is for tall boots and comes in small and large. I think X-small and X-large sizes may be available that are not Amazon Prime. There are also very similarly named My Recovers products that replace "weather cover" with "protective cover" and come in black and look nearly identical but are about $5 cheaper and are not water resistant.I have a tall Air Cast Air Select Elite and I was careful to order the "weather cover" in Large but not careful enough to make sure I ordered the "tall" product (I guess I thought Large was Tall) so I have to return the "short" item. Not a huge deal and I placed an order for the tall and a RMA for the short one as soon as I caught my error, but this could be handled a little more easily through a centralized product page or even some kind of mapping between what boot you have, what cover you want (weather resistance or stylish cover) and what size you need. Somewhat irritating. There are 5 pages of My Recovers products on amazon and no less than 11 products that are black boot covers - consolidation would be very helpful.

Functional Cover But Not Waterproof
I recently needed to wear a boot due to breaking my toe. I was leaving on a trip one week later where I'd need to be dressed more formally for certain occasions. This cover came in handy and the black color fit it well with the clothing choices. With the boot I was able to do some substantial walking on tours and the bottom of the cover held up relatively well on pavement in icy/snowy conditions. It did wear out after two weeks but I was walking in the boot about 3-4 miles per day. I'm satisfied with the cover so I just ordered a replacement.Note: This cover is not designed to be water/moisture proof if there is a heavy amount of rain/snow hitting the ground. It works fine if you have relatively dry ground. For cold conditions, I found a pair of wool socks and used one of the plastic laundry bags from the hotel room to create a water barrier over socks.TIP: If you are in one of these boots for the first time, you want to use a "step up" on your shoe for the other foot. It will save you hip pain and doctor bills for the other side of your body!

Accidentally ordered a size up but still highly functional
Bought a medium instead of a small and didn't realize my mistake until it was too late to return, so it's pretty baggy, but the elastic is still secure around ankle and foot. Fortunately it's still great for rain/sidewalk grossness (wet leaves caught in your toes anyone?) in my fairly low key city life.I had a little trouble with the adhesive on the Velcro strips not sticking to my boot at first but it seems to have settled okay. I followed advice from other reviews and made sure to place vecro them so that the cover clears the bottom of the boot and have had no problems with it wearing out.Overall, good product, way less hassle than trying to secure an a grocery/trash bag around your leg and hoping for the best. I'm still a little miffed that it cost almost as much as my raincoat for a relatively simple design, but I guess they've got a captive market and not much competition...

Flimsy thin material and light zipper (formal dress) - Garbage
The material was very thin and the zipper was light. Don't buy this trash. Damaged in a few weeks of wear. I had to use safety pins to close it up. The white parts of the cover is the inside material The seller won't give me a refund.

good invention
The air-cast cover is easy to put on the walking boot. Just don't know how to keep it from slipping over the toe area to outside sole. Tucked it under the thick foam inner sole to see if that will still keep my toes dry. It won't last especially with the sidewalk salt if it keeps sliding to outside sole. I have the right size but the zipper won't stay shut.

Not a complete cover
I misunderstood the description, thought there were grips on the bottom, not an opening
