A great rope, kayak or bait knife--and more
This is standard, high - quality stainless Mora knife except for the following features:--a blunt tip. The tip is intentionally rounded to avoid puncturing something near what you are saying away at...like a person, a dingy, or your arm. A SHARP tip could put those things in danger under stress.--SHARP, SHARP serrated blade. The serrations will saw through any standard quarter inch rope ( nylon, cotton, poly, sisal, or fiber) with one good pull. I abused my model with a bit of testing. It cut through two-strand electrical wire with one pull. It sawed through a half-inch fiber rope with a harder pull. I cut through some three strand copper Romex electrical wire, but this took some sawing. It dulled the serrated blade slightly, but still cut all versions of rope the same as before. I haven't actually tried it on bait yet, but it cuts the same as my serrated Victorinox paring knife, so I have no doubts it will cut bait with aplomb. I also tested it on standard seatbelt material. Under light tension with light pressure and light effort, it sawed through seatbelt in ten strokes. With modest tension and slice-a-turkey pressure, it sliced through seatbelt in three strokes--this was AFTER the Romex torture.--there is still one inch of standard-grind blade after the round tip. My version required a modest honing with a strip of leather to make it scary-push-cut-paper SHARP. I keep mine clipped to my PFD for kayaking, and look forward to long and faithful service..Other than that--standard, palm-friendly handle; excellent , 12C27 steel; rust resistance; a free, functional sheath that will clip over your standard belt (not just a button or a narrow belt); all at a wallet-pleasing price. I like it!

Great knife
This is with my Search and Rescue gear. It’s light, sharp, reliable and affordable! I specifically like the rounded tip. Serrations cut webbing and rope really well.

Great Rescue Tool
I own many knives, that I use for a variety of purposes, from everyday carry multi tools to outdoor/backpacking. I say this because I believe every knife is a tool and it’s important to have the right tool for the job, though often times the right tool/knife is the one you have on you. It’s with that in mind that I bought the Morakniv Companion Rescue. I bought it to mount in my truck, in case I needed quick access to a knife to cut a seatbelt or in case of an emergency. From what I can tell this knife is perfect for that job, though hopefully I won’t need to find out...Edge: The knife came out of the box razor sharp, I have no doubt about it’s ability to cut through a seatbelt or other tough material. It’s a cheaper stainless steel, so it doubt it’s ability to hold an edge or to be field sharpened. However, if read reviews to the contrary and besides that’s not it’s purpose for me. I simply need it to stay sharp that one time. The blunt edge is nice, in case you need to avoid cutting skin. The serrated edge also nicely suited to cutting tough material. This makes it perfectly suited for its intended purpose; think cutting off a seatbelt.Sheath: It comes in a bright orange plastic sheath. It’s easy to see in case of an emergency. It also comes with a screw hole, so you can mount it, which I didn’t know before buying and made the permanent mount in the center console really easy. The retention no the sheath is questionable. It’s mounted in the truck, so again not an issue for me. If it was in a pack, non problem. Wearing on your hip, might be an issue...Ergonomics: I’ll be honest, I don’t love the feel of the knife in my hand. The rubber isn’t comfortable and the angle of the handle make it uncomfortable. I know people love Moraknivs, so this may just be a preference thing. Again though, a non issue for me given its purpose. If you need a knife for that emergency situation at a more than reasonable price, this is it. For repeated long term use in the field, it’s questionable... To throw in a pack or keep in a glove box just in case, I would 100% trust this knife.

I like it!
Very well finished and SHARP! Great price. Purchased as a river/rescue knife to wear on PFD. The sheath clip has a unique design so it wont come off accidentally. The knife "clicks" into the sheath. This seems to hold the knife fairly secure but a mechanical latch would be more reassuring. Handle is very "grippy" and comfortable to hold. Knife is light but solid. Size is about perfect.

Good knife for the price...
This is a good stainless steel knife for the asking price of 21 dollars at the time of my purchase.I like that it came sharp and has good serrations on the bottom three quarters of the blade.I like the rubbery texture of the handle and the fit of it to the blade. The handle is also big enough for larger hands. Now for the things I think could have been better....The sheath is nice but I worry that the knife may eventually be loose in it and with no other way to secure the knife in the sheath, it could be lost.Personally, I would like to see a little more swell between the handle and the blade to keep my hand from slipping down onto the blade when I am using the knife in dark, slippery or stressful situations. The blunt tip is a must but I had to stone a few burrs off of the one I received.------Overall-----In my oppinion, This is a must have for anyone canoeing or kayaking especially if you are on rougher waters. If I lose this knife I will definately get another one. It is worth the price.

Best boat knife
I have been sailing for over 5 years, and these knives are always my go-to. They stay sharp a long time and are cheap to replace, the knife is easy to quickly take out and put back in the scabbard one handed which is important for boat work. With how long these have served me they definatly deserve a good reveiw
