Why not
I prefer Sennelier to almost all brands because it has a really smooth, buttery texture (since it uses honey as a binder instead of gum arabic)...with that being said, I didn`t like most of other watercolor brands. I discovered Holbein through YouTube and couldn`t really find many reviews on them. I decided to buy this set anyways (for artist quality paints it is a STEAL). I don`t really know why people were complaining about the tube size, each tube can fill about 4 half pans and these are highly pigmented so they go a long way. These watercolors are WONDERFULLY smooth and have a nice transparency. They layer well and re-wet REALLY WELL, way better than other tube watercolors I`ve used-perfect to squeeze into your palette and not having to worry about them not re-wetting. A slight annoyance I did have though, was that this set included a black. I rarely/never use black in my watercolors as primaries can be used to create pretty much every color-I`d prefer a payne`s grey or something. All-in-all, I feel these are worth the purchase for any watercolorist- even good for the beginner, just for the price. I have been recommending these because I think they`re perfect for anyone who loves to paint :)

Best Professional High Pigmented Watercolor Ever
Love the consistent watercolor flow. Great water control. Love the their colors. Love the high pigment concentration of Holbein's professional watercolor. Love that you can get really dark with the watercolors without it appearing waxy like other brands. Highly recommend Holbein's gouache as well. Great seller with super fast shipping. Thank you so much.

Gimme gimme more!
First time trying the Holbein series and overall I am pleased.Pros of the set:-Good color choices with a nice mix of staining, translucents, and basic primaries-Highly pigmented-Re-wet with easeCon:-NEED LARGER TUBES. Great for the money but I'd be willing to spend more for 7-15ml :)Definitely going to repurchase this or the larger color selections in the future. I've used Royal and the student series of Winsor and think these are my favorite for the overall quality of product and pigment.

Love These Beautiful Colors!
I just received this set. I'm not a "watercolorist" but have taken some art classes and then an intro watercolor class way back when. I have to say, I'm really impressed with this Holbein set and did some swatches and blending and just played around. I've attached some photos of what I did. The Crimson Lake, Vermilion Hue and Permanent Yellow Light, mixed with a lot of water produced my favorite blend. I also think the Yellow Ochre was really lovely. I read that if a color is a "hue" that that means it has filler in it. But I don't think that matters much with Holbein watercolors. It all looks pretty good to me. Watercolorists with more experience with other brands may prefer the "one color/no filler" brands. But if the quality is there, I don't mind. And the quality seems to be very high with this brand. Highly recommended!

A little goes a long way!
I'm comparing this to the prima marketing watercolor and holy cow I don't know why I didn't just start with Holbein because just a little bit of paint already comes out opaque! The tubes are pretty small but I'd say it's pretty worth it. The prima marketing feels a bit grainy for some of the colors but all the Holbein colors are super smooth!!!! (I still love and use the prima but Holbein is just *chef's kiss*)
