Monteverde Color Fusion Fountain Pen, Stealth Black, Stub Nib Only (MV41337S)

It wrote pretty well when it worked, which unfortunately wasn't very often. It was hard to get started, skipped a lot, and was fairly scratchy. It didn't seem to be affected by the brand of ink, but did improve a little after a couple cleanings and minor realignment of the tines. Nonetheless it skipped often enough to be one of the most frustrating pens I've ever used. I finally had enough and tossed it. Total waste of money. I don't understand how such unreliable garbage gets out the door. If Pilot can make a perfectly reliable disposable fountain pen for under $5, there's no conceivable reason why a pen costing more than 10 times as much should EVER function this poorly.

Design: 4.5/5. A bit on the heavy side, but I prefer my pens that way if i'm not to use them for hours in writing. Nice and sturdy finish in all black body and nib.Quality: 4.5/5 The quality of the finishing overall is quite good. The stub nib is all black that flows well with the rest of the pen's theme. The ink flow was not so consistent at first but after writing a few pages with it, it started to flow properly without any stops. The ink i am currently using for this is edelstein Smokey quartz. With the stub nib, the ink is absolutely gorgeous on paper.
