I bought this auger bit on a recommendation of a fellow gardener, for putting plants into my straw bale garden.Seriously saves time and my back. Just load it into the chuck on the drill, and start drilling the ground! I can put 10+ plants in in a minute now!

So easy to make perfect holes for small plants, and veggies!

Gets the job done but don't use in high speed. If it snags something it will twist your wrist right around and pull your shoulder HARD. Go slow and it will do it's thing.

This thing saved me days worth of digging hundreds of holes in hard Virgin clay soil. Very sturdy. The cutting edge doesn’t cut into soil so you need a lot of downward pressure to dig down.

I would warn my fellow gardeners against buying this item if you're planning to drill holes in your lawn. Our bulb planting project was set back when this device came apart on the 3rd hole we drilled through sod. The augur's lack of a sharpened leading edge made it ineffectual when cutting through grass. I sharpened it on a bench grinder and that improved its performance. But a pronounced wobble revealed the tool to be eccentric. And soon the shank simply separated from the augur, rendering it useless.

Not really made to last long I have tough dirt bit after a few uses the bit looked beat up , Also its a short bit I really wanted the long one.

Didn't make a dent in the dirt. Apparently only works in soft soil.
