For years there has been a shortage of good information about Shaolin Kempo, with many misconceptions about the history and principles of the art. This book does an admirable job answering persistent questions that many students of the art have had for years. It provides both a 'high level' overview of Shaolin Kempo along with practical analysis of some of the key techniques in an approachable manner for both beginner and serious students of the art. There are always variations between schools and instructors, but this book is a valuable training companion for Shaolin Kempo students.

Shaolin Kempo Unveiled is an excellent book that speaks to Kempo practitioners of all levels. I am a student of the martial arts, a parent of a student, and also a martial arts school owner. This book provides information that pertains to new students, experienced students, teachers and even parents of students. My favorite thing about this book is that it isn't a tutorial on how the authors think you should best practice Kempo to be like them. This book offers guidance instead of instructions and can act as a tool to aid any Kempo practitioner to find more meaning in what they have already learned and what they will continue to learn in the future. I highly recommend this book to any Kempo practitioner (students, teachers, and parents of students) as a way to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the art.

This has been a long awaited book for Kempo practitioners. This book helps the practitioner connect the dots of what they have known innately but have not fully understood cognitively. This book puts at the fingertips of Kempo practitioners a rich and accurate history that most do not possess.

Shaolin Kempo is a difficult martial art to learn given the many fighting systems and skill sets on which it is based. This book provides a terrific presentation of key ideas and concepts, with interesting insights on how they work together and the history behind them. Readers will get a lot out of this book whether they are new to Shaolin Kempo or have been practicing it for years.

This is a great read for all kempo practioners. Finally, the secret keys within 1-40 defense manuvers (defensive techniques) are revealed and well explained. Gtrat insight to martial arts and how it can benefit day to day life. I loved it. Thank you sirs! (:

A well writing information book on Shaolin Kempo but two people with vast knowledge of the art...

Well written, easy to understand.

Professor Ingardiola and Master Marlon Wilson’s Shaolin Kempo Unveiled exemplifies and elaborates the essential keys to becoming a successful and practical martial artist. Through being a student of Professor Ingargiola himself along with his student, Kioshi Steven Castelli, and reading this book, these lessons have paid myself significant dividends. I have explored a various amount of martial arts’ styles, but none come close to the realism of Shaolin Kempo Karate. This book delves into those ideologies and in turn allows you to apply them to your personal martial arts style, or waza in Japanese. I highly recommend it!

If you are interested in or have heard of Shaolin Kempo and wish to know more. I would strongly recommend this book as a starting point. The basic concepts about the art introduced in this book will be a very useful tool for those looking to further their own understanding of the martial arts and Shaolin Kempo. The book is well written and easy to understand. It is honest and open about the martial arts and offers a truthful perspective to what Kempo is all about. It is not masked in deep philosophical meanings but straight and to the point. For beginners, intermediate, advanced and even beyond. This book will serve you well as a faithful companion in your journey to understanding all about Shaolin Kempo and what the art can offer you.

Great and easy read. A great in depth overview of Kempo that shows it to be an art of continuous learning. The book teaches that there is much more to just knowing the material. It creates an image for the reader of Kempo beyond its techniques, combinations and forms. The Master Keys bring the combinations to life and with a bit of creativity, you begin to see more possibilities with each combination and each animal technique. Loved it!

Enjoyed this book immensely and will continue to do so as it is not only a thorough introduction to Kempo, if you are not familiar with the style, but a fundamental and indispensable reference as a student. I especially enjoyed The Master Keys chapter. An easy read, a quick reference and an endless source of understanding. Love it!
