Q: How big is sound hole on the bottom?

It is 2 1/2 inches, but I've never taken the plug out of mine, and it sounds fine.

Q: Is this loud enough to play with other instruments like acoustic guitar, uke, ocarina, etc?

I believe so. You can hit the notes softly, or you can hit them harder, and the sound will come out accordingly. So just hit the notes harder.

Q: how is this a hand pan? It looks nothing like them.

Smaller version and sounds are great. I bought to see if my 2 non verbal grandsons would respond to playing and listening.
