i used this ONCE ! to heat up a mug of water in my van so i could make a cup of tea .. Total rubish & dangerous it over heated the wire so much it melted it . Now doesnt work , could of caused a fire ... AVOID this product its not safe to use ..

Great little item. Value for money.

Works pretty well to heat liquid, but do bear in mind that even though it's rated for 140 watts drawing that kind of power through it is too much for the thin wire that it comes with and melts the insulation. It could use some thicker gauge wire to cope with the amount of current it draws. Ordered another one as you can take it apart as it's only held together with two philips head screws and I will replace the wire with some mains voltage rated cable to hopefully deal better with the thermal load.

I've purchased two for my friend as little souvenir. He was planning trip on motorbike, so he needed something to boil water for coffee, tea etc.He tested both heaters, one didn't work at all second after 10 minutes still didn't boil cup of water, but the cable started to melt down of heath.I can't even return this rubbish, because my friend can't return them on time.Absolutely rubbish thing.

Gets the job done but they do wear out after a while.

Draws far more power than claimed, wires get hot and smell like they're melting.Takes forever to produce any useful heat tooPlausibly I could have a damaged one, but it seems just poorly made/designed

Not fit for purpose wire from cigarette port got very warm and started to burn after 1 use.

This heating element is a replacement for another one that I've had for a few years. The previous heater took about 15 minutes to heat a small cup of water. The new one so far takes only five minutes. Much faster.Update: one month later it's broken down, it's usually disconnected wire but I can't see any problems there, so I'll have to replace it. Plus the casing arrived broken and I had to tape it from the beginning, but that was a small price to pay for the very fast heating speed.Update: I now suspect that the product didn't break down, it was probably the car cigarette lighter fuse had died.
