oh my WOW!!
I’m not one to leave reviews, rate books - every time I finish’em - but reviews, not really. But I simply couldn’t pass the chance to say how much I truly love this book. I absolutely love Ex and Meridian and throw in God and Day. Oh man, that’s a wonderfully explosive combination! I really hope not only that this series continues, but that we get more books with Ex, Meridian and the whole gang! Not gonna lie, but I’m secretly hoping that Ex and Meridian decide to retire from their current occupations and start working with the team. Hopefully in a more consistent and/or permanent way in some form. Be it, directly working with the team as detectives. Or perhaps in another government branch (FBI, Marshals, etc…), PI’s, or private security (AKA bodyguards). Hey, a girl can dream. Lol

Okay book
To be honest, I so hate to be a party pooper. Everybody is raving about this book. I went into it knowing what to expect, and to a point I wasn't disappointed. Some things were the same: sheer perfection of every character and their incredible abilities. I half expected somebody to start doing magic. That was grating on the nerves a bit. Another, was that again there was too much God and Day time and POV. I mean, they dominate the series so much that other couples do not get enough of their stories told. Confession time: God and Day are my least favorite couple in this series. (for many reasons one of them being that most of the time they sound like complete jerks with God complex, pun intended)The new couple, Ex and Meridian, are okay. First part of the book I honestly couldn't take them seriously half the time. While trying to create this strong connection between them, the author at times made them sound corny and at others somewhat superficial. The whole enhanced abilities angle could have been great had it been developed more. The background story in my opinion was incomplete. That said, there were some riveting moments involving them, some intense feelings, and I did see the connection between them as something more than ordinary. I quite liked the second part of the book. A lot of posturing, testosterone and over the top convenience was going on though per the norm. I am glad that the author didn't fix everything for Ex and Meridian. I liked how they ended up in the end. Some events and actions were just made to fit, but I just wanted to know how it ended so I soldiered on.I really disliked that every single character was almost a carbon copy of the other. The complete physical perfection and complete lack of flaws in most of the characters spoiled this book for me. But Ex and Meridian at times felt human and fallible, and that's what pulled this book through for me in the end.

My favorite so far!
I loved this latest book in the series. It’s a very different premise and a very interesting format. And while Ex and Meredian are perhaps morally questionable characters that presents some interesting dilemmas God and the reader.Ex and Meredian are made sympathetic characters (for assassins) by the bits of background info we get but I wish there had been more detail. We get a bit of info on how Meredian ends up in the program, sort of, but the bit we get makes me want way more information. We get no real info on how Ex ends up in the program. I want all the details on these guys as I really want more of these characters. The storyline is interesting and as the path to solving the crime moves along you can feel God’s frustration with the situation. I liked the way the story jumped back and forth between characters’ POVs. I loved the tension of the climactic moment and the bonus epilogue ending the book. Though I hated the cliffhanger-type ending as the confrontation it implies has the potential to be epic.I definitely hope this is not the last we see of Ex and Meredian.

An Amazing Addition to a Fantastic Series
Holy hotness! I absolutely loved this book. I wasn't sure how it would work, the introduction of 2 new characters outside of God and Day's task force, but I should have known that Ms. Via would work it out. Ex and Meridian, they were amazing together. A well oiled killing machine and my favorite type of character. Brutal and ruthless when needed with just a hint of vulnerability with each other. I have a soft spot for hitmen with hearts so this book was everything. I loved how they transitioned into lovers, having been the other's source of support for so long. They way they could read each other so similar to the way God and Day work together, it was romantic and hot and somewhat sweet at the same time. I loved their interaction with the task force and the respect they showed Hart for his protection of Free as well as God and Day as the protectors of their force, their brothers.Ms. Via truly keeps this series alive and interesting with well thought out and written story lines. Her ability to weave such a magical, romantic, heartfelt, and hot as hell story about strong, tough men who are not afraid to be vulnerable to their partners is why she is one of my all time favorite authors. I highly recommend this book, this entire series, and can't wait to see what she does with the next book. (Am I the only one who wants to see Vasquez taken down hard?) This will definitely be a reread and a listen, once the audiobook releases.

Not bad
Nothing Spacial VII: Ex Meridian is the seventh book it the Nothing Special series by A.E. Via. It concentrates on two military men Ex and Meridian that are on a mission to avenge the death of Ex's little brother.Reading this book I felt like I was missing somethings, like there was information about these characters that was maybe in a book I was unaware of. I have read the whole series to this point but it really didn't feel like this book was a part of it at all. The regular characters we have grown to love seem to be almost background characters to their own story. If read like a stand alone, the story is a solidly good read with the biggest mishap being a bit of a cliff ending. I would have rated it lower if it wasn't such a decent story despite the incongruity from the rest of the series.

Best one yet I love morally grey characters
Oh, well that was an absolute banger of a book featuring two guys who operate under a blanket of secrecy and with deadly effect.I loved this one, I liked how the plot was tied in to the wider problems that God's team has been investigating throughout the series.Ex and Meridian were hot as molten lava, working under the cover of darkness, operating on the edges, their lives wiped out and their existence denied. When their paths crossed with God's team it led to some amusing alpha posturing but ultimately, mutual respect and cooperation. There's more action and focus on the crimes investigation in this than there has been in the previous couple and finally there's an answer to why cases have been dropped without prosecutions.Overall this has definitely been my favourite so far and I hope we see the deadly assassins again!

Wow, just wow! AE Via has done it again!!
I'm a huge fan of the Nothing Special series. I love God and Day's squad and all of the books for the individual couples. It would take a serious amount of carefully crafted writing, therefore, to revisit the all of the guys in their busy lives without it seeming trite and whilst introducing two completely new alphas at the same time. Ms Via absolutely nails it, however, with a well-woven tale of crime and corruption that brings Ex and Meridian into God's orbit.AE Via's trademark relentless action and intrigue are present as the case which is keeping Ex and Meridian in Atlanta progresses at pace. Meanwhile something stinks in the justice system as the number of convictions is not stacking up to the hard work and number of arrests by God's team.Aside from the absolute bad-assery (it's a legitimate term, honest!) of all of the alphas, a significant portion of the book is spent feeling the absolute devotion they have for their partner and we see the lengths they would go to in order to protect each other, which is heartwarming. We know all about God and Day's gang by this point, but the introduction of Ex and Meridian gives us a different spin on the alpha theme...and a bit of insight on nature over nurture as the two men both experience their extreme conditioning clashing with their feelings for each other.Quite simply, I cannot give this book enough stars and I hope we see a lot more of these guys very soon! Oh, and the two bonus chapters at the end are perfect...An ARC was provided in exchange for an honest review.

An excellent book!
have to admit that when I read Nothing Special, I expected it to be like this. It wasn't and was spoilt at 83% but I have read them all and this is of another level! This is a much more serious book without the humour that is found in the previous books and the story was definitely not what I expected following the end of His Hart's Command.Ex and Meridian are amazing together and their relationship development was a real pleasure to read. The pain felt by Ex was real and it was good to see their kind of justice and that he avenged his brother's death and ensured the safetyUnexpectedly gritty and very enjoyable. I'm glad that the leak was who I expected.I'm hoping to read Fox and Bull's story in the future. The only negative and it's not the first time in this author's books, is that in this book the chapters only go to 11.

Beautifully Written
Let me start by saying I love the Nothing Special series. I have adored it from day one and will continue to do so.I did enjoy this book but it was unlike anything in this series so far. Though to me, the rest of the books in this series had a lighter and action packed feeling behind them, this book felt cold and calculating. When I was done reading it I didn't feel as weightless as I had after the rest of the books. This book was beautifully written and the relationship between the two main characters was sexy as could be. I can't help but feeling that this book should have been a spin off instead of a sequel because of how different it feels compared to the rest of the series. In my head it would have been a perfect start to a Ravens series. All in all I did love the book and I would reread and reccomend it if you are looking for a book about bad boys who throw all the rules out the window.

Loved it
Absolutely loved this book and the characters. Another great story with romance, steam, a little fluff, lots of action and plot. What is not good for gang bangers life expectancy. Kill the much loved baby brother of an assassin. Definitely going to get the next one.
