Remote start - 2016 Dodge Ram 1500
The product itself is 5-Star. The instructions and DIY part is a little less. That being said, I took on this job having never installed a remote start before. So, I take responsibility for the learning curve part.Vehicle: 2016 Dodge Ram 1500, 2-Wheel Drive, Gas, Big Horn EditionI installed this as a stand alone remote start using the OEM remotes. You just click the OEM remote lock button 3 times to start. All of the following information applies to my install on my truck and may be totally different on your vehicle. It took me about 3 1/2 hours to install because of some trial and error re-dos. I bet I could do it again in under 30 minutes. There were a couple of confusing parts in the installation instructions.1. The T-Harness had a blue wire and a blue/black wire that were not terminated with any connector. I wasn't sure what to do with these wires. In the end, those wires had to be connected to the same wires in the 20 pin cable. No problem; It just wasn't clear to me.2. The "Stand-Alone" option was (on mine anyway) turned off by default. Before attempting an install, I connected the EVO-ALL to the programmer, turned on the "Stand-Alone" option and updated the firmware to the Fortin recommended version. This is not difficult at all.3. The instructions mention some non-included parts such as a resistor, diode and fuse. I did not need any of those items. Some of these might be necessary in some of the optional connections, but they were not needed in my application. If I would have done the first two right away, the installation would have been under 30 minutes.I used 3 red t-tap connectors to snap onto the ignition, can high and can low wires. This was pretty clear in the instructions. These are the mandatory connections; I did not do the optional connections for the parking brake and retained accessories.Warning: Don't let all those extra wires throw you off. Just pull out the few that you need and bundle the others out of the way. This is simpler than it looks when you first take it out of the box. Then, I went through the programming instructions including the key decryptor. All was straight forward for me.SUCCESS!! Clicked the lock button 3 times on the OEM remote and the truck started right up.I really like this new feature on my truck. Now my vehicle is ready for those cold mornings AND no more scraping the windshield.I hope this review helps.

VERY EASY / MUCH CHEAPER WAY TO ADD REMOTE START!
This product made adding remote start to my 2017 Dodge Ram a breeze. I flashed it using the USB programming cable through the website and was able to get the installation instructions for my specific model from the website. It tells you what wire(s) need to be used and where they are located as well as the exact location on the harness and the wire color. A couple connections and I had the remote start working in about 30 minutes total! The feature from the dealership would have cost me about $500 total! This works great, the range is decent using the factory remote. I decided to add an aftermarket module and antenna to turn it in to a 2 way remote start and to extend the range (which is currently) up to at least 1k to 2k feet. The range is that good! The aftermarket remote works and extends your door locks and the remote start. You will need to purchase the other items separately but this unit works great as is.

Not plug and play, tech support is no good, and did not fit 2017 dodge ram 1500.
Did not work for my 2017 dodge ram 1500 because the flash decrypter only went up to 2012, in situations were HORRIBLE. The only reason I got it installed was because luckily someone made a simple YouTube video so I could understand, it was all scattered around out of order. Then after all that still wasnt able to program it and have to pay return shipping.Customer service is open 9-5 eastern time Monday thru Friday so if you work 9-5 week days like I do your pretty much not going to get help installing it. Was super excited to get it because it was "plug and play" right? No, you have to tap into 3 wires at least if not 2 or 3 more and then have to try and figure out how to decrypt the dang thing which that has NO INSTRUCTIONS AT ALL so yeah I'm pretty disappointed.I would go with something else where it's literally PLUG AND PLAY, WHICH IS OUT THERE, and something that has tech support open at least on saturday...

Easy Install... if you have everything
2016 Dodge Ram 1500I bought this because I felt like it was at a reasonable price for something I could install and if it didn't work then I wasn't out a ton of money. So....what I didn't know was that you have to have a (flash-link) to make this work. I ordered the flash-link before I ever even tried to hook it up. I found a few videos that helped but they still didn't give all the info I needed. Long story short is that you must flash the module for your vehicle before you even begin. I made the connections and hooked it all up but couldn't get through the first step of programming because I need to flash it. (which they don't tell you in the instructions.) The instructions are where I saw that I needed the flash link though. After I flashed the module I was able to complete the process with no problem. I feel like it was a rather easy install after it was all said and done and spent right at about $100. Not bad at all in my opinion for a remote start. I use my factory remote key fob and press the lock 3x times to start. Hope this helps someone.Oh and don't forget you will need approx 5 ea Posi-Taps 20-22 GA.

Love it! Best price on the net!
Very nice product. Worked great on my 2017 Ram 1500 Tradesman key start. I like the fact that i don't need another remote gadget hanging from my key chain and i can use my OE remote for everything. One would think its a factory original installation. Installation was simple after studying the instructions, talking to tech support and watching the install on youtube. I would have to say that the installation instructions are the weakest part. There is a lot of information that is not correct or relevant to the install. Order some Posi-tap 20-22 gauge wire taps when you buy this. It will make connecting a sinch!

Super easy
This product is a very simple install . You will need a programmer which to be very honest is still cheaper than some of the ones. Lots of Q&A on fortin website. 5 wires and s program . Super simple . Seller got it to me within days . Very happy

Dont buy this for Jeep Grand Cherokee
would not recommend this product it requires splicing into OEM OBD2 wires, save yourself the time and buy the CHRT7 which is fully plug and play
