Takes too long to get a close shave.
Takes twice as long as my old Norelco rotary to get a comparable shave. Expensive. Requires expensive cleaning solution refills.

stop looking and buy this. amazing shaver
utterly amazing.let me start, gather round, i will tell you about my beard....fast growing, dense, multi angle barbed wire. its so difficult to shave i stopped using my old braun syncro pro regularly and just use a trimmer so i always have stubble. for when i do need a proper shave, used to trim, then use the synchro pro and then use a straight blade to finish. ok, my synchro pro is 15 years old, but i change the foils every 18 months. i have been to turkish babrers (actually in turkey as well as uk) and they cut me to ribbons. i long ago gave up trying to wet shave myself as theres only so much blood i can stand the sight of.ive literally just used this razor for the first time and have had to come straight down to the pc to write this as i want to share the news.so, i have received this shaver, and i deliberately didnt shave for a week as i wanted to test it. my beard is easily nearly a cm long.it has, in 4 minutes, chomped right through it on the first go at an alarming speed. no pre-trimming needed, and its so smooth i dont need to use the straight blade. and NO NICKS OR CUTS AT ALL! my missus is very happy!i am utterly amazed, and really happy.is this the best shaver in the world? i cant tell as i haven't tried all the others.could it be better? for me, no, its so far beyond my expectations from an electric shaver that i cant see anything that could be better.is it expensive? yes it is, but you get what you pay foris it overpriced? no - count the number of years you will own this, lets say 10. its going to cost you 15 quid a year. even if you purchased a Β£50 razor instead, you are saving 10 quid a year, less than a pound a month. the saving is tiny, and you wont get this superb cut that this razor gives.should you buy it? yes definitely, you will not regret it. i doubt you will ever use a different shaver. whatever they have done to the blade system in the last 15 years since i bought my synchro pro is incredible.

Disappointed
Very disappointed in this. It comes with a large charging station cum cleaner which is to be honest just an expensive gimmick which takes up a fair bit of room. It cleans OK sometimes but at others it leaves a film of hair clippings on the cutters. You have to buy special liquid to feed it which is a waste of money because you can wash it under the tap and you can charge it directly with the lead provided. As to performance, it shaves well and does not irritate the skin as some others do however after about nine months use I found that the cutters were becoming blunt. At this price I expected rather longer than that. It seems to be a vehicle for selling expensive spare parts. Not recommended.I replaced it with a Chinese rotary one for about thirty quid which I have been using for several months and which is working really well.

The worst!
I always used a Braun shavers, decided to spalsh out on a higher tier model. The base station stopped drying very shortly after the purchase, the flip out trimming mechanism - while it was working I found it a big step down from lower tier models as cant see what you're trimming in the mirror due to it being behind the main head. Now, after a few years only one corner of the trimmer sort of works..The head itself needs to be bashed on the side to get it to cut well too, making a different sound on each attempt. Battery life has always been very good and still is after a few years. In short - dont recommend it and wont be buying a 7 series ever again. End of!

Never thought an Electric Razor could be so good!
Having had a Philips 3-rotor head model for over 10 years, decided to give this a try, especially as started to get some infection on my chin with infected stubble hairs, that seemed to be spread round face with shaving. Not had a foil-type (and I appreciate this is a little more advanced than that) since first electric razor when I was still a lad! Think it was a small battery powered Braun and was never really keen on it, catching and damaging foul on my teeth, and never really gave a close shave. But this is a revelation! Really close shave, comparable to a blade (although I notice the stubble is back a little quicker than if used a blade - but worst case use this Braun for another electric shave in evening on rare occasions slight stubble was needed not to be seen!)Only area it struggles with is my lower right side of neck - guessing angle of cutting, and angles of hair growth - but now aware of this I give it extra attention and not an issue.Pleased to say that even cuts close under lower lip (normally I use a wet blade to finish off that area - but this Braun does take it off)Charger and cleaner is excellent - I tend to clean the shaver twice a week - on a Sunday open it up and tap out clippings - looks as much white hair as dark these days! And rinse under tap - then put in charger for recharge and full clean. Mid-week I just tap out clippings and rinse under tap. The cleaning fluid I have still about half left after over 3mths.Never thought an Electric Razor could be so good!

Mixed Feelings
I have now had this shaver for almost 9 months and have mixed feelings about it.The first shaver i received had to be returned after just a day, as the cheap plastic button that locks the head broke, meaning the smooth pivoting head was now catching and making the blades move to strange angles and impossible to use.The replacement came and i was pretty happy with it's performance - it isn't as good as a wet shave, but gave a nice close shave, charges in quick time and the battery lasts a long time.I would say the performance was slightly better than the Series 5 that it replaced, although i would have been quite dissapointed if the shaver wasn't on promotion at the time and i had paid full price.Anyway, almost 9 months on and i have just had a shave and noticed my face was bleeding in several places - upon checking the foil, i noticed 2 large holes. I do not expect the foil to last forever, but i would expect it to last for more than 9 months of light use (3/4 times per week). The foil and cutter in my Series 5 lasted for almost 2 years.Given the premium price for the Series 7, i do not feel that it is particularly good value for money and given my experience so far, i'm thinking that Braun has started to cut corners with the quality of their products recently.Edit:After a quick email to Braun Customer support, a very nice lady replied in less than 2 hours and had arranged for a replacement cutter block and foil to be sent to me. She said they would expect the foil and cutter to last longer than approx 9 months and have passed on my details to their Quality Team, so although i've had a couple of problems with the shaver, i cannot fault Braun's customer service.Edit 2:After 8 months of using the replacement foil, it now has a hole in it.And Braun now want want me to send the shaver to the service center so they can check it.I will certainly not be buying another Series 7 - i think i will try a Panasonic shaver next.
