Little new.
A book about Buddy Holly's 1958 UK tour.Potentially a great book, but had it been illustrated, with some of the many photos mentioned in the text, it could have been so much better.I felt somewhat cheated and leant very little that I didn't already know!

Oh Boy!
Andrew Johnston has produced a slender book that can be read in a couple of hours, but which is an important addition to the literature on Buddy Holly. Here is depicted the Crickets' UK tour of 1958, evoking the cold March weather, the journeys up and down pre-motorway Britain, and the frantic schedule of shows twice a day, every day.How on earth, we wonder, did Buddy and the boys fit in an appearance in Kilburn, a quick dash into central London to appear at the Palladium, and then back to Kilburn to appear that same evening in the second show? The only quibble with this book is the lack of photographs of the tour; no doubt for copyright reasons. There is however a valuable glossary of links to sources the author has consulted, including photos and contemporary accounts.A wonderful wallow, especially for those of us old enough to remember the era.

A nice addition to the collection
A small, but detailed, well written, and researched book, a fine informative addition to any fans of Buddy and the crickets collection.

Buddy Holly in England and Wales
This short book is a detailed history of the only tour of Great Britain by Buddy Holly and the Crickets which took place in March 1958. It has been well researched and contains lots of interesting background information. As a Buddy Holly fan of many years' standing, I found it fascinating.

When Buddy came to Britain
I really enjoyed this booklet which gathers together pretty much everything there is to know about the Crickets' March 1958 British tour. Did you know that Des O'Connor toured with them, or that they were interviewed for the BBC Home Service by an actor from the Archers? I recommend you buy a copy and find out more.

Good Idea but not well done
Several Inaccuracies like saying the Crickets mimed on Off The Record when they actually played Maybe Baby,Not enough Photographs and infromation,What happened to the Others on the Bill afterwards,Missed Opportunities.

A good record of the Crickets visit to the UK
