I compared and shopped around and this was the best deal.NOTE: It does not come with thermal paste, you should find a very small amount.Highly recommend buying this to replace your fan. Replacing a fan on this model is extremely time consuming and requires lots of patience. Look up a tutorial and get ready to work.

I have an HP G62 144DX. The fan had been rattling around for some time. After some crashes it was time. Otherwise, the computer runs well.Dismantling was not to bad really, and although you may not have to, I put new thermal paste on the heatsink. There are plenty of videos on youtube how to take the laptop apart.This fan was not an exact fit for my G62 144DX. The pin is correct though and it is only a little different. First, the screws in my original fan were to large for this fan. When installed they fit, but split the plastic. Also it would not line up with the screw to hold it to the bottom cover. The heat sink is held on very tightly, and is packed in pretty tight, so I am not worried about it.That said, I reassembled and the fan works great. I don't remember this computer ever being this quiet, and no crashes so far. For the price I am really satisfied, and it doesn't take long to do so if I need to do it again I won't be all that upset about it. The shop I toook it to wanted $100 for labor and $50 for the part. I get they need to make rent, but this was a far more palatable option monetarily.

Lasted 40 days and quit. A lot of work to replace for 40 days.

Works great as a replacement fan for the one in my laptop which burned out. Quiet. Very happy with its performance so far.

The original fan on the HP G42 slowly died out. Its performance was intermittent at first causing the laptop to overheat. Eventually it completely died out to the point where the BIOS would give a warning informing the user that the fan is not working and could lead to unpredictable results. I bought this fan for less than $8 and replaced the original with it. The entire process of disassembly and reassembly took about an hour.For what my wife does (browsing and occasional document editing), the G42 is more than capable. This fan saved me a ton of money by not having to buy her a new lappy right away.

It certainly did the job and quieted down my computer. I would have given it five stars except there was no thermal grease included so I had to buy that for another $5. A very small single use tube of thermal grease would have been much lower cost.

The fan was as described. Its a small basic part which explains it's affordable cost. You will need to tear the HP G62 all the way down and remove the mother board before removing/replacing the fan, however; if you're willing to do it, you can affordably fix your laptop.As stated above, I repaired my non-working HP G62 laptop with this part. The laptop would run for about 5 minutes and power down due to overheating. Replaced the fan and good to go.
