5PCS Filter Cartridges Black Aquarium Turtle Filter Quiet Flow Water Clean Pump Bio Filtration Reptiles Tank Low Level Waterfall Filter

I purchased this filter for my turtle tank. It worked well for a couple weeks before the motor started making a loud grinding noise I could hear in the basement. (one level down from the tank) It's something you expect from filters a couple years not months in. The real joke happened when I was packing the filter for return and found the instructions and it was clearly stated they expect this filter to be run for 2-4 HOURS PER DAY! After a good laugh all I can say is buy a tetra whisper. It's cheaper and made to run more than a few hours per day. (also have fun trying to find filters in a retail store)

It’s whisper quiet (the pump itself anyhow), allows for use of various types of filter media and even includes a few bio balls. That alone makes it a step above many other filters on the market just by simply allowing you to use the filter media of your choice. Of course you could use the filter pack that’s also included if you wish.Even though the instructions say it can operate in water that’s only an inch deep, I’d advise you to have no less than 2 inches of water to help keep the pump cooled properly.I’m planning on using a few of these to filter water in som aquatic plant starter trays since it keeps the water oxygenated and can allow for filtering the water so a few small fish can be included to provide waste as food for the plants. Great little product and I’m sure to be buying several more.

This filter works great in my turtle tank. My only issue is I have probably 30 gallons of water in the 50 gallon tank and it does not seem to pull enough suction to filter the opposite side of its location. I will be buying second filter for the other side of the tank shortly but this filter is extremely quiet and pulls a lot of suction. Replacement filter cartridges are inexpensive which is also a good reason to have this filter.

This filter for the price has actually become one of my favorites over an expensive name brand most people use. It runs great. The pump attached to the bottom, pumps a high rate of water which is excellent for tanks with turtles and so forth.It is actally very quite. If it wasn't for the waterfall sound itself I wouldnt know it was running. The water flow is so smooth the African Side Neck turtle in the tank loves swimming under it.The pump is removable from the filter so you can clean the impelle if need be. This is a big plus with because sometimes debris can get into the pump around the impeller and cause it to lock up then burn out.The only flaw that I truly found with this was the hanging clip isn't strong enough and snaps off. However there are 2 large suction cups that hold up the filter with no problems. I just prefer the clip as a backup in case the suction cups let go.Pros: Quite, Powerful, easy to clean and maintainCons: Haging clip is not functional for the weight of filter once water starts pumping through it.I would recommend this pump for a turtle tank if you don't want to buy a 60.00 or more name brand one.

It provides a nice and steady water flow that doesn’t cause any significant agitation in the water, which is great for my betta. The motor is quiet. The black finish does its job to make it blend in the background a little. Note - there’s a photo that looks like it’s blue because of the lighting in the tank, but the unit is black. I do like that there’s space inside to possibly introduce other filter media beyond the included sponge on the outside and secondary filter plus media balls inside.. A great buy for what I intended to use it for.

I have this as an additional filter in my shrimp tank. It has the perfect amount of water flow and there doesn’t appear to be a way for fry and smaller shrimp to get sucked in. It’s a great little filter and I plan on purchasing another soon for my frog Paludarium I’m building.

I've had it running since the 8th, today is the 13th, and it hasn't stopped once. Packaging was fine. The reviews about it being in pieces and no instructions is useless because it's pretty common sense as the filter only fits in one direction, slim side down, the 4 little filter balls go in either side or you can let them float in the tank itself and the small intake tube can only go in one place and the foam slides over that filter tube. 4 stars because it is pricey at $20 and it does get a little noisy. Too keep my turtle comfortable without the noise, I bought 2 regular sponges and put one under it and one behind it and I could still suction cup the top one. It's quiet and stays in place. The video clip was with my phone inside the tank.

It’s perfect for my 3-gallon Betta tank, and my fish loves hiding behind it. It’s quiet and filters well. The waterfall is not too harsh for the betta and it circulates the tank water around nicely.
