Keepin’ it simple
This book sums up a bunch of pattern alterations with minimal descriptions and simple drawings. I really like it. Many how-to books are hard to navigate but with this one you can flip right to what you need. The alterations are broken down to their essentials. It doesn’t give a lot of extra information but I’m ok with that because I believe that extra information will come from experience. This has everything I need to get started. It has alterations for men and women.

Highly Recommend for Learning to solve fitting issues.
This is a great book to have in your sewing library. It is one of the best books I have seen on solving fitting issues. Everything shown and explained in a very easy to understand way. I stumbled upon this book as it was mentioned in a sewing blog I read. I hated ordering it because I couldn't look inside it first - and there weren't very many recommendations. But I went ahead and took a chance on it - and I'm very pleased with the information the book has. I would say - an experienced sewer probably already knows all this stuff - and wouldn't need a book for anything. But for us just getting going trying to make our own clothes, and solve fitting issues, I think this is a book that can be of real help. I am going to be looking at some more of Kerstin Martensson's books. Happy Sewing.

Excellent book on pattern alteration
If you are familiar with Kerstin Martensson's books or pattern line Kwik Sew (especially the old Kwik Sew patterns) you know how excellent she is. This book does not disappoint. I only wish I had this book when I first started sewing in my teens as a hobby (and still sew now in my 50's) Would have helped with so many frustrating pattern situations which led me to leave sewing at times, only to return. Please see images of table of contents to determine whether this book is appropriate for you. I am delighted to have in my sewing library. Fast shipping through Amazon fulfillment, thank you Amazon.

Perhaps a few photos of pages/drawings would help others make a better decision to buy if this would suit their level ...
I'd give 5 stars if I were a beginner. I gave it to my son who is teaching himself to alter his dress shirts and learning to make his own. He is thrilled with it. Perhaps a few photos of pages/drawings would help others make a better decision to buy if this would suit their level of sewing abilities.
