The Boys Omnibus Vol. 4

K, I love this series. The characters breathe. I also love the fact it’s ridiculously obscene and sort of a fun romp through the madness of the common human psyche. Then all of a sudden it gets serious. I’m up to my eyeballs in Scottish slang. Wee Hughie is being a massive jerk. I completely don’t get gas mask guy. I’m sick not knowing what the heck is going on as I don’t understand the language .. it stopped being a romp of fun. I kinda got over it by the end. More Terror please. Let Wee Hughie grow a pair. Stop letting Butcher project his own self hatred on the majority of supes who’ve been screwed over as bad as he’s been. Let me into the wacked out thing with Black Noir and his curious thumb.

Very different from the show but highly enjoyable. Definitely not for the easily offended. These collections are very high quality with sharp bright colors and high quality paper.

This serve mindless release reading on vacation. Excellent graphic noble that made me buy more.held my interest for 4Nights

Detailed and fills in a bunch of stuff throughout the story but so much stuff just meant nothing until the last few pages. This was hard to get through.

So ... Butcher is a horribly manipulative fellow. I mean, I knew he had few moral scruples and a raving hatred of supes, but he really puts Hughie through it in this one. In many ways, I like it, as morally dark main characters are interesting, but the way the narrative seems to glorify his actions at points is a bit off-putting. The thing that really saved it for me is the fact that Hughie and M.M., at least, seem to notice how messed up Butcher is.Hughie is another issue I would have, but the comic and even Hughie himself acknowledge that his reaction to finding out about what Annie did was unreasonable. I like it when character flaws are relevant.Another good one.
