First night impressions
First night impressions: I wasn't expecting it to be the full size of the mattress. In fact, I had to trim the foot about 2", which was simple enough, with a pair of scissors. We have a fairly tall bed, about 30" from the floor to the top of the mattress. This made it too tall, almost 36" at the head. I'll probably build a lower frame for it myself, but it could be an issue for some, or you could love it. Make sure it's what you want before opening the package. You'd never be able to stuff it back into something to return it. It's a wedge of bare foam. There's no cover.I've had problems with reflux for years now. Various acid-blockers helped a lot, but never fully eliminated the problem. I drive a truck over the road for a living, and for the past decade or so I found that if I park on a hill, with my head higher than my feet, I sleep much better. My reflux has gotten worse in the past few months, so I finally broke down and bought this for our bed at home. It worked perfectly last night. I normally only sleep 4-5 hours at home before I have to sit up, or I have to use two pillows and wake up with a headache from neck tension. Last night, first night with this, I slept a full 7 hour uninterrupted, and woke up without that sour taste in my mouth, and without feeling like the inside of my throat had been bathed in acid all night, because it hadn't.So, it's pretty basic, but it's a real solution. If you have problems climbing into bed, consider possible options for lowering the bed before using this. Since I'm probably going to build my own frame, I could have built an incline frame instead, but that's not an option for most, and I'm tied up with so many other higher priorities on my time, that it probably wouldn't get done for a year, or longer. I could have bought the power adjustable frame that the store I bought this mattress from sells. But that would have cost a couple of thousand. This was much cheaper, and simpler. It was worth every penny.

Great Option for Acid Reflux
Like other people who ordered this, it was so misshapen when it arrived I did not think it was going to expand fully. It arrived a day before we were leaving on vacation, and I was able to air it out for the entire week we were gone. When we returned, the middle section still had a slight indentation in it, but I didn't want to wait anymore. So I just flipped it over and put the indentation on the underside of the wedge. This has worked out perfectly for my acid reflux issues. The wedge replaced 5" blocks that I used under each foot of the headboard. I hated the blocks, because it put the headboard at an odd angle and stressed the wood side rails. It also just looked bad because the feet of the headboard were flush with the wall but the top of the headboard was angled a good 5" away from the wall. The wedge isn't as high as the 6" blocks, but it works just as well and is much nicer looking. It also doesn't put any stress on the side rails. The only issue is that the mattress tends to slide down toward the footboard over time, but that is just the law of gravity at work. I am very pleased I purchased this. If you decide to get it, just plan on having to air it out longer than the 24 hours recommended, especially if it is more compressed and has any unusually tight indentations. Also plan to have to push the top mattress up every now and then as it slides towards the footboard.

adjust my diet and only take a PPI when symptoms are bad. So far
I bought this to help relieve my GERD symptoms (post nasal drip, clearing of the throat, reflux) that was recently confirmed via endoscopy. I've been prescribed a PPI (proton pump inhibitor) but have no interest in taking it long term. My wife is a pharmacist and has learned about the consequences of long-term, chronic use. Instead, I've decided to get the mattress elevator, adjust my diet and only take a PPI when symptoms are bad. So far, the results have been positive. My symptoms in the morning are significantly less and noticeably better. I did notice the difference in elevation between my feet and head the first night, but it took only one night to adjust otherwise. The product is a simple foam pad. Like many reviewers, I was surprised that the weight of deluxe Sealy mattress and two sleepers (175 and 135 pounds, respectively) did not crush or hamper the foam pad. I'm sure there is a simple scientific explanation (density to weight distribution per square inch, etc), but there is no reason to be apprehensive about the performance of the elevator with you and the mattress on top of it. It will hold.If you have reflux issues, I highly recommend trying this out. For the price, especially when comparing to a few months of prescription medications, it's worth a try. Best of luck!

A little surprised...
Show up in the mail yesterday. At first impression was that it would not work. The box was quite small for a Cal-King, but after reading the reviews, I opened the package up and allowed the foam wedge return to its original size. For a Cal-King, it is a generous fit with an extra couple inches at the foot and couple extra inches on the side. NOTE: I would open the box and unwrap the wedge WITHOUT a utility knife. This product will cut quite easily. I am a big man and my weight was a concern since this is a memory foam wedge. The package paper insert even states this is a memory foam topper. I have to admit, I was shocked that the wedge did not deform at all due to my weight. My wife said it remain the same height after I laid down on the mattress. I have not slept on it yet, will have a follow review in one month to see if it helped with the reflux and it stayed true to its original shape. I took off one star because I haven't slept on it yet. I will have my final rating in a month.Update 6/11: Well, I added a star! It works as stated and my reflux is non-existent. It also seemed to improve my overall sleep. Quite impressed.

Absolutely amazing product. Definitely helps GERD while sleeping.
This mattress elevator has definitely helped with acid reflux. Since the first night sleeping with this product between my box spring and mattress I have not had a night that I have woken up with feeling sick. Amazing product! Highly recommend.

Cheaper than an adjustable bed!
Great! So much better than the smaller, personal size. The incline is only 4 inches and a bit but works well for my acid reflux. Not so high that your bed looks weird when made up.

Simple and inexpensive solution
It only raises the head of the mattress by 4 inches, by if one wants more, they can also raise the head of the bed by a couple more inches by using a small piece of wood or a book. Without a product like this, you could not safely raise the bed by more than 2 inches without causing damage to the frame, so this is a very simple solution to a nagging problem.

Good product and is exactly as advertised
Good product and is exactly as advertised. It works very well keeping my mattress on an incline which helps with my acid reflux! Very happy customer! Would highly recommend! Very fast delivery too.

Did not work as advertised.
Ordered product to be installed under brand new Tempur Pedic mattress . The material apparently is not dense enough to support the mattress so when I layed on it, the mattress collapsed under my weight making it unusable. When I asked to return the foam I was instructed to put it back in the box it came in, which was impossible since it came compacted and wrapped in plastic. Eventually negotiated a 40% refund, cut up the foam in pieces and threw them in the garbage.
