I wish they didn't change the lid. It doesn't stay on anymore. Other than that, this is a great protein without sucralose!

Tastes great not like some of the others that are chalky or gritty tasting.

The media could not be loaded.  Usually 'French Vanilla' has a distinct flavor.. but this doesn't. It is, however a very good vanilla. On top of that (pun intended) the top doesn't seal at all, which is very important when it comes to storing powder. I have to keep the container inside a sealed bag or it clumps up. Also, for some reason, when I add this to smoothies in a blender - it adds a bunch of air to the smoothie, making it undrinkable. I have to make the smoothie, then add the powder and stir it in manually after it's made. Not good for smoothies at all, unless you're just making it in a shaker with water or milk. There's honestly not a lot good about this powder, except that it's cheap and tastes ok. A container that seals would make it at least useable.

Thought I would finally get around to reviewing this product. I've been using it for a few months now and I really have no complaints. I stocked up when it was crazy cheap, combined with subscribe and save, and a coupon code, it came to around $10/tub. I ordered about 10 or so because I previously tried it and knew what I was getting.First off I noticed a lot of people complain about the taste. I'm not very picky and i've only tried vanilla by this brand. I find it on par with other vanilla proteins I have tried, actually better to be honest. Anybody who opts for a natural whey will know the taste will never be as good as the regular blends which contain all the chemicals and artificial flavoring that we are trying to avoid - unless you ordered the natural one by mistake? Pure Protein does have regular non natural blends too, so maybe try those. That being said this protein isn't 100% natural like another reviewer stated but its pretty close. I alternate between this whey and Dymatize' natural whey in chocolate. I like the variety between the two. Even the dymatize blend isn't fully natural, neither is ONs natural line. To truly go natural gets awfully expensive, last time I checked $30-40 per 1 pound tub. Its just not worth it to me. I find PP, dymatize, ONs semi natural blend to suffice as its mostly natural, while not being 100% it is nowhere as bad as regular stuff.This stuff tastes good, mixes easy, and is a bargain(at times). I will continue using it and definitely recommend it. Generally though, those who consume protein often, and other powders know that taste always come secondary. The profile and value always come first.The only other thing is this contains 5g sugar per serving whereas my dymatize contains none at all. A small complaint but it isn't a big deal to me as my daily sugar intake is low anyways since I eat pretty clean.

This whey protein is really fantastic especially the flavor delicious creamy vanilla flavor. I purchased this because it does not have any artificial sweetener after first trying the "regular" Pure Protein vanilla cream flavor. I'm not completely anti-artificial sweetener, but in general I rather avoid them and the regular vanilla cream gives me a lasting after taste I don't like. So if you aren't clear on the difference the "natural" Pure Protein powder uses some fructose, "natural flavors" and stevia and the "regular" Pure Protein powder uses some artificial flavors and artificial sweetener. I suppose it will be better to compare the vanilla versions of both (I have the natural vanilla on order now but don't have it yet) but I definitely like this chocolate powder. I have used this powder so far in shakes, yogurt, and overnight oats and it is indeed very sweet on it's own which I could see some not liking, but if you add something to cut the sweetness a bit it tastes great. (I've actually not tried it in a shake by itself yet, so that may be ok) A little PB2 works perfect for me to tone down the sweetness. Most of the time I use it In my shakes with cottage cheese, almond milk, cow milk, frozen banana, and PB2 - in varying amounts to fit in my macros, and I can have a great chocolate milk shake every day. I've been on a long cut and only recently started using protein powder in my shakes and wish I did it sooner because it makes them much more filling and satisfying. Increasing my protein has been key for me to get over a fat loss plateau as I've hit a low body fat percentage, and this will also serve me well once I'm done with fat and move on to building more muscle.

The reason for 3 stars is because the container lid is defective. It screws on like normal but does not lock, and, for this reason, when I picked it up, the lid stayed in my hands while the container filled with protein fell all over the floor. Bummer because what I had left was really good tasting for a protein shake. Not super sweet like some. It's unfortunate I only got about 2 shakes out if the whole container. If not for this defect I would give 5 atars

Although I like the tast of this protein powder, it's slightly different from the smaller containers that I had been buying from Dollar General: smaller scoop. But the reason for only three stars is that when I lift or hold the container from the top, the lid comes off, the container falls to the floor, with powder spilt all over the floor. That never happened with the smaller containers, which I can no longer get at DG because of the pandemic shortages.
