Perfect shoe for road endurance! I may never buy another model...
I have a very niche foot: Short, wide, and really high arches. I needed something wide, breathable, and zero drop. This shoe fits great! Bought them for triathlon and marathons. I typically would just go with my vibram fivefingers but I wanted something more durable and a bit more padding for endurance sports. This fits the bill perfectly. I have no problem with my toes needing breathing room, as these shoes have plenty. I would recomend buying a size smaller if you plan not to wear socks. And yes, the tongue of this shoe is amazing as it is comfortable. No rubbing areas anywhere. This is as close to barefoot as you can get with a real shoe and the protection is flawless. I would recomend the trail version for any gravel roads, but only for durability sake, not because your feet arent padded enough. Ive logged well over a hundred miles in these and besides a bit of dust there are no blemishes. The only reason they would appear not new is the front of my right shoe where the sole is glued to the top of the toe took a rock head on and came loose. Its barely noticable and was totally my fault. Most shoes once they have a single tear or something start to peel off, they completely fall apart with more use. Not these! Still, perfect shoe for road running, get the trail if you like going off road. Also, the MT00, should you chose it, is quite narrow. Keep that in mind.

Great Shoe.
This is the first wide show I bought. I need a large toe box, and the NB Minimus shoes, which I've worn since they came out, are normal (which, for me, is a little tight). My feet move around in the shoe a bit (I wear them with socks, too). I'd be curious to try a regular fit.But I love the tread. I've ran on Mimimus trail and road shoes that have treads that look like worn down cleats. I don't go off road at all, but my local NB store does not carry these.I also love the lack of arch and low heel. It is what I choose minimal shoes for. Perfect. And they are becoming harder to find, again.I have noticed that the uppers for minimalist shoes are getting thin. The mesh being used does not seem to hold up like the old Nike Frees did. I have found this on my Altras, too. I suspect the trend for light, sock-like uppers is to blame. Of course, now that I don't need to buy shoes every 600 miles because of compaction, there is a new reason to have to buy shoes!

I've always like NB shoes.
SIZE UP 1/2; if you are ever concerned about width, get 2E. I normally wear 9.5; I went for a 10/2E in these and they were PERFECT. The heel felt SLIGHTLY loose, but I also think way too much about everything and can be super neurotic, so I wouldn't worry about it.Good shoes. Compare them to Merrells road glove (right?), or other NB minimus (MR10v2) shoes, MAYBE some INNOV8s. Except that the upper is a really nice and snug, but pliable, something synthetic. The sole is nice and cushioned, at least about as cushioned as I'd like on a minimalist shoe. The Vibram part of the sole is nice, I think, or maybe just a gimmick, though it does provide for a good feel on the ground at toe off. I won't say TOO much grip, because it's just a flat rubber sole, but it does the job well enough; I'd be happy to take them on a 10k right out of the box...And that's what I did. I got home at 10 pm, saw them outside my door, was excited, threw them on (I can't remember if I wore socks or not; I want to say no -that's important though), and went on a 4.5 mile run. I run about a 6' mile and these felt good for me with my shorter stride and midfoot impact at about 7' mile pace. I thought about them too much while running so I think I realized, unintentionally, or artificially, that they felt sluggish, as though the sole was too flexible; I like a slightly stiffer sole so I don't lose energy in toe off. Whatever though, the shoes are nice and fit well and will carry anyone for at least a 10k.

770 miles run
I have put in about 770 miles running on these shoes and I'm finally ready to retire them. They are probably my favorite shoes I've had in my life, and have served me very well. They are very lightweight, simple, and comfotable. One shoe currently has a whole in the bottom, which developed around mile 700. Both shoes have big tears on both sides of the upper, on either side of the forefoot. The tears have probably been there to some degree since 400 or 500 miles, but they were never an issue. I'm retiring the shoes because I'm upping my mileage a little and they're so thin, I'm afraid I'll get injured if I keep using them. Plus, I run a fair amount of trails, and especially with that hole, it can get a little painful. If you're looking for a lightweight, minimalist shoe that is durable enough to look pretty crappy but still do it's job through 700 miles, this is the shoe for you. I highly recommend it.

Poor quality & even worse fit
I had over 450 miles in the MR10 and decided to try out the MR00. It's too bad they discontinued the MR10s for this model, they were much better before. I loved the MR10s and was very optimistic about these; however, was let down by the fit and quality. The MR00s are much more narrow everywhere except the heel. Having ordered the D width first and being too narrow, I tried the 2E width. My heel was slipping out of the shoe but the rest of it fit my foot nicely. New Balance made the heel wider and the rest of the shoe much more narrow. Also, mine had a thick overhang from where the side of shoe met the sole, along the inside heel area of shoes (see photos). Also had some wrinkling on one of the shoe's soles at the heel. Overall, very disappointed with the quality. It should be seamless in these areas. Not sure what to recommend other than finding a different shoe.

Un très bon produit
Très bonnes chaussures de course à pied minimalistes. Légères, souples et belles. Attention NB taille petit. Je fais du 40 et j'ai pris du 42. Bon vendeur : toujours livré dans les délais.
