Ladybug Girl & Bingo Go Camping
My daughter loves the Ladybug Girl storybooks, ever since she received her first one, Ladybug Girl , as a birthday present when she was three. She's almost eight now, and over the years we've collected several Ladybug Girl storybooks. Even though she's now in Second Grade and has pretty much graduated to chapter books, she still enjoys reading these books to her five year old brother--who is another Ladybug Girl fan. So when he needed to buy a present for one of his female classmates, he quickly selected this Ladybug Girl story as the perfect gift to give her. LOLIn this particular story Ladybug Girl, aka Lulu, and her best bud, Bingo, go camping for the first time. When Lulu has a hard time keeping Bingo on his leash and by her side, she realizes that that is a job for Ladybug Girl. LOL As with all the Ladybug Girl stories, this one is well written, and is beautifully illustrated. The recommended age is 4 and higher, but we've been reading them to my daughter since she was three, and continued to do so when my son was born, so he's pretty much been listening to and loving Ladybug Girl since he was only a few months old.

BUY THIS BOOK
This marvelous book came into our lives via Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, and we were pleased to buy it as a gift for my daughter's friend's third birthday. It has been a favorite of both my son and my daughter during their preschool years. The illustrations do an amazing job of enhancing the story and providing opportunities for parents and kids to discover new layers of the story together. Ladybug Girl is an empowered, energetic child with loving parents who give her room to grow--just the kind of child I want my kids reading about!

Great pictures and story
My granddaughter loves these books. The pictures are great, especially the facial expressions and the stories all give a good message.

Sweet, realistic preschool point of view
This is a sweet character that my preschooler really relates to. The main character is a 4? 5? year old girl who enjoys dressing up as her superhero alter ego and going on imaginary adventures that loom in her experience but are actually simple and small. The author captures the topsy-turvy scale of the preschooler's point of view in a charming way. The drawings of the character are a bit formulaic and mangia-like, and a bit inconsistent from page to page, but doesn't interfere with the story. We really enjoyed this book and also enjoyed Ladybug Girl and Bumblebee Boy by the same author.

My kids love Ladybug Girl
My kids love Ladybug Girl, but this is one of my favorites to read. The story is interesting and teaches a good lesson for kids, but the pictures are incredible. My kids especially like the ending, where Ladybug becomes Firefly girl.
