6 Nimmt!, or Take 5 in English, is a quick and simple game that everyone (who can count to 100 or so) can play, yet it's challenging for even veteran players to master. The object is to have the fewest points possible, points being the number of "beef heads" on the card (1 to 7 heads per card, based on whether the number is a multiple of 5, 10, 11, or a combination of these).The game consists of a deck of 104 cards, four of which create the play area, and the rest of the deck for number of players times 10 (2-10 players possible, though 5+ is a more interesting experience). The play area consists of the initial four cards, which each start a row of five that will be filled as the players choose their cards.Each player gets a hand of ten cards, which are placed in a predetermined order in the play area. There is no turn order; everyone plays a card face down and reveals their cards at the same time. In order from lowest to highest, each player places their own card in the play area to the right of the next closest card in value, according to the rules. If a player is forced to place a sixth card in a row, they take the entire row, and the card they just played forms the new first card in that row.In the base rule, the lowest number is played to the right of the number closest to it in value; for instance, 10 would be played to the right of 9 if possible, but if 9 is not in play, then it would be played to the right of 8, or 7, etc. However, if the lowest number is smaller than the rightmost numbers in play, the person who played that card would be forced to take a row of their choice and replace the first card with the card they just played, forming the start of a new row.There are some other variants, including a tactical mode where ONLY the cards less than or equal to the number of players times 10 plus 4 are used; e.g., for 5 players, only 1 to 54 would be in the deck. This creates an extra layer of strategy where a player with a good enough memory can remember which cards have and have not been played yet. The game's simplicity lends itself easily to creating any number of variations!I highly recommend 6 Nimmt! (or a translated version) for anyone who enjoys quick strategic games. The main downside is needing at least four players, optimally, to have an interesting enough game. but the beauty is the game's simplicity makes it easy to teach to newcomers.

This is one of the few games where I have had friends decide to buy it immediately after playing it together.I have played this game with groups of people aged from 6 to 40, and everyone had a blast. With more than 4 players there is just enough randomness to allow the kids to win every now and then, and just enough planning involved to keep the adults engaged. The game is small as it's just a deck of cards. It's rumored to one of the most popular household german card games, not sure how true that is, but it has replaced UNO for my family!

A friend taught us this game, and we have taught it to many friends and family since then. It's a great game!!When we play it, I get an uncontrollable urge to laugh because one can think they've got a perfect strategy, but then another player does something that completely wrecks the plan/strategy. I shouldn't laugh, but I just can't help it. Of course, it's not funny when it happens to me. LOLBuy this game, and a few extra to give as gifts. We did! :)

I had an opportunity to play this very fun card game with friends of mine who had purchased it in Germany while on vacation.It's been such a blast to play that I had to have my own game.Even though this game was shipped from Germany to the United States it came so fast!Plus...it was packaged very well.This is such a fun game. Played 6 Nimmt with our daughter and her family - the only ones in our bubble. The game is a lot of fun, and you have to roll with things, just like you have to at these difficult times. Your strategy in how to play the game is not something that you can count on, just like today..

First off, if you have never played this game, try to find video instructions somewhere. The directions are in German.We found out about the game from some friends that showed us how to play it and we enjoyed it so much, we had to buy it. Hopefully the rules we were taught are correct.Regardless of if we are playing correctly or not, this game has traveled with us a lot and always makes for a good time.

This game is super fun. If you have someone to tell you how to play it, it's super easy to learn. The issue is the instructions are written in German. Look up the rules and it's a breeze. It's a fun game because you can try to have a strategy and then have it completely thrown off track because of someone else's card. It's great for groups!

Ordered this. It arrived quickly which was great.It's been very hard to find anywhere and that being the case this product arrived and everything was printed in German.I already knew how to play so I didn't need the instructions and to be honest I'm not sure if the game is printed in English as I have never seen it that way.Instructions are easy enough to find online as well as videos of how to play like most other gamesOverall, great game. Seller does not make it clear enough that this game is in GERMAN - including the rule sheet. Easy enough to get English rules from the web & the cards have no text to worry about, but this should have been made clearer.That gripe out of the way, this is a great easy-to-learn game with lots of tension as all players pick a card to play at the same time to avoid playing the sixth card in a row of ascending numbers. Sounds simple but there is plenty of depth, plus there are several game variations included in the rule sheet. Ideal player count: 5,6 or 7.

Really cool game! Was introduced to this game by my uncle after my cousin bought it for him after she’d been in Germany for a year. They’re both obsessed with it! It’s so simple and fun. I have seen an English version now as it must be gaining popularity, so if you can’t read German or have never played this game then go find an English version.

Simple rules but the winning tactics get trickier and the outcomes of each round of play more unpredictable as more players play the game. Don't worry about having German instructions, if that's the only and cheapest version you can find. The English rules are easily searched for on the internet. Buy it! Great for family parties.

Man muss taktisch überlegen, welche Karte man wann legt. Welche Reihe man entfernt, wenn man die Möglichkeit hat, dies selber zu entscheiden. Das in dem Spiel etwas Glück gehört, ist für mich jetzt nicht schlimm, sondern bringt in der einen und anderen Situation den gewissen Charm und mit den richtigen Leuten ist es immer sehr witzig!

Bought this card game for our daughter for Christmas and it was played a lot. A little bit of skill needed and a lot of luck!!!! Instructions in German (which our daughter speaks) but language not needed to play he game.
