More variety than you might expect
While I wouldn't have figured there was enough content to warrant a book focusing on two franchises there certainly is plenty here to enjoy. Thankfully you get tons of coverage and many spin offs and similar games in the genre from all regions. Since a lot of these games are mostly one offs without being released on a dozen you don't have the slog of reading over minor differences between Commodore and Spectrum ports as much as you do in other books of this series I have read. One of the more enjoyable from this company that I have read so far, highly recommend.

Lots of content in a small package
Smaller release, but still packed with plenty of content. Reading these, I always seem to learn about some new, interesting facts, or about a game I really need to check out (e.g., Ninja Five-O). Some annoying typos are present, but I enjoyed reading this volume.

A fantastic look at two classic series
Strider and Bionic Commando are two of the best series Capcom ever created. This book covers them both in detail, along with games that play very much like them. If you're a Strider or Bionic Commando fan (or love both, like myself), you need this book!

Another excellent book form the crew at Hardcore Gaming 101
Another excellent book form the crew at Hardcore Gaming 101. Much detailed info & good coverage of all the ports as well as similar type games. A welcome addition after the books Sega Arcade Classics, Castlevania & Konami Shooters. No doubt the forthcoming books concerning Taito & Sega Volume 2 will be just as excellent.

Meh
First, I admit that I did not finish the book. I read the first few pages and then I became turned off from the very simplistic writing style. After that I skipped around until the end. Second, I read this on a mobile device so of course the pictures and text or only as vibrant as my screen. If it's ever on sale for $0.99 or less, give it a shot. otherwise just pass it up and go to Wikipedia.

An excellent write-up of the Strider and Bionic Commando series
An excellent write-up of the Strider and Bionic Commando series, from the original classics to modern remakes/sequels. Also contains shorter reviews of other games like Umihara Kawase and fun mini-reviews of Japanese Famicom and Playstation games. Hope to see more stuff from HardcoreGaming101 in print!

Great!
Great book with plenty of inside history. Professionally drained/written. I do wish there was more large imagery- but I'm happy there is someone out there publishing this as a physical artifact!

Another AMAZING .... from Kurt and Krew.
Another amazing book from Hardcore Gaming 101. And to top it off, it was released on my birthday! Kudos to Kurt and crew. 2 of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE game series covered in one book. It's truly a dream come true. From the bottom of my heart, thank you to the whole crew for this. I honestly, and I know this sounds mushy, feel privileged to hold this in my hands. Amazing! My absolute highest recommendation!

Must have for retro gaming aficionados
Great book. If you're into retro video games or was a child of the 'golden age' of video games and arcades (e.g. late 70s, 80s & 90s) this is a must have. It's obvious a lot of thought, time and effort has gone into creating and publishing the Hardcore Gaming 101 books. I for one will be buying each release when they become available.

Plenty of detail
Plenty of detail in the book. Feels more like an extended magazine main article, but still very good and will buy others in the series. Price could be a bit lower thou but guess the target market isn’t that big

Qualità scarsa
Qualità di stampa molto scarsa, immagini poco definite. Non sono soddisfatto.

One of the better video game related books I've ever read
One of the better video game related books I've ever read. I'm a permanent fan of Hardcore Gaming 101 now and will be buying many more of their books in the future.
