Tupper Ansel Blake is a friend and former neighbor of mine. I thought I knew him but learned a lot more about a pioneering nature photographer and conservationist from this book. He is a fascinating character, as you will discover, who has usually lived "outside the box". I have visited him at his Marsh Island Ranch, which he constructed from several recycled old western log cabins given to him by ranchers in the Klamath Basin. It is a treasure and a place where he recently watched 2 wolf cubs playing - probably the first wolf cubs ion California in dozens of years.Tupper has lived a fascinating life which he constructed for himself and which s well worth learning about.

Tupper's work always exceeds expectations and brings to life the natural world in a beautiful and unique perspective. He is a master of his craft and the honesty and depth of his narration of his life adds even more to the experience of knowing the work. The book is a perfect final career effort for Tupper, befitting a master nature photographer.

First of all, It is a thoughtful insight into a difficult childhood that would eventually pave the way for an incredible career in wildlife and environmental photography. I was a fraternity brother of his as well as his roommate for two years on his return from Korea.He deserves all the accolades he has achieved and his photography speaks for itself.

I love this book. The only problem was it was very badly packaged and one corner was completely smashed. When you pay that much for a book it should be perfect.

This book is amazing and is very captivating , once you start reading you will not want to put it down. Tupper’s life journey is an adventure like no other. The photographs will take your breath away. Definitely a five star book
