Works perfect
Starts up every time, never had any issues there. Very powerful for a 25cc I’ve been able to cut through cattail stalks with this thing easily. It is a bit challenging to wind dual string but that goes for every dual string trimmer. All in all, excellent value for the price and it will always get the job done.

Great Bargain, Nice Product
So I read a lot of the reviews and questions beforehand because this was the cheapest gas powered weed whacker I could find, and its what I needed. I was worried about spending $100 for something and it being a useless pile. However, after the reviews, I took a chance, and so far Im very happy I did.Ive used the trimmer 3 different times, and this thing starts like butter. I read the manual fully before even touching the machine, and followed every stipulation. It was a bit shaky upon first starting, but since then it has smoothed out, I assume from just getting broken in. Once its been started and you turn it off, literally one pull is all it takes and it fires right back up. The bump feed works well, but you do need to make sure to keep it fed out, because it can get short real quick and then you have to restring it.The only problems I have with this machine is that the manual could be a little more clear about restarting it. The manual would make you think you have to prime it and go through all the pulling to restart and that simply isnt the case. And the only other thing is that the trimmer head has a small gap between the shaft and the head, and grass gets caught in there really easily because there is nothing to shield it, leading to having to stop and pull the weeds out of it. But thats relatively small stuff.TLDR, this whacker works as well as any weed whacker ive ever used, has a lot of power, starts easily and well, and so far runs flawlessly. Follow the manual and make sure you use fresh feul and mix 2 cycle oil into the gas at the recommended ratios and you wont be dissapointed.Very happy with my purchase, 4 stars because the manual would confuse first time weed whackerers, it confused me and im not new to this, and the shaft could use a little better engineering where it meets the head.Last thing, Remington falls under the MTD products umbrella, which includes things like cub cadet and some other big brands, which further gives this my approval, however, in my box, I got instructions for registering my product on their website, but when you go to the website, its just for parts and information, there is literally nowhere to register anything.

Not worth buying
This thing is terrible.Trimmer head fitment it terrible. Will not start after you shut it off.Tried to get it to start and then the rope start mechanism stripped out and that’s when I called it quits.I took it out of the box. Trimmed my yard once and put it away. Went to trim my yard again, the second use and I ran out of string. That’s when I began to realize the issues it had.Now I’m two weeks past the return date.

Home use. Excellent
For the price this is a good trimmer. If you are planning on using this as a business tool, think again. This is a good trimmer for someone that wants to maintain their own lawn. For those who have never used a gas-powered trimmer remember you have to mix the appropriate amount of 2 stroke oil to gas ratio. Or you will burn the motor up!

Bought this as part of my learning process.
I purchased the contents of 8 commercial storage units last year for peanuts. Each unit was 16’x16’x72’!!! The fellow who had them was the quintessential definition of a hoarder! I found 5 vehicles in those units, that only the deceased knew were there. I lost count of the gas powered weed eaters/edgers at 1196! I’m now slowly learning how to get them running, so I can sell them off. I bought this Remington for $76.99, iirc, and it’s the most basic of string trimmers, it doesn’t even have a “clutch”, so the string is spinning if the engine is running. I MUCH prefer my Shindaiwa T2510 C4 hybrid, valved two stroke, with .155 silent twist string! It’s four times the money, but 20 times the machine! In transition from practicing law for 22 years, to selling off 12,000sq/ft of lawn equipment, pressure washers, tools, etc., I’ve learned that we really do “get what we pay for” when it comes to lawn maintenance equipment. In conclusion, this is not a great trimmer, but it is inexpensive.
