A Nice Update That Is Well Worth Upgrading To.
I would say if you have the 2017 HD 10 it"s a great time to upgrade. The 2019 with the new processor is day and night when it comes to responsiveness.....if that's a word...lol. My 2017 model was one of my go to travel buddies. It has now been replaced with the 2019 HD10 hands down. Let's get this out of the way here,the Fire Tablets are not power house devices. They never have been and maybe never will. What they have been is the best all around devices for their price. Don't let the....Certified Refurbished scare you away,if there's a problem Amazon so far has had my back.My first shipped device was DOA out of the box. I was shipped out a new device the same day(good job Amazon) The new device is working like a charm,most task are way faster than the 2017 HD10. I would say it must be the processor(octa core) and the now updated OS. The first you should do is let the device do all the updates. Make that your first task until you see the new home screen as in one of my pictures(it will prompt you that is is new)I have owned and still do have about 7 Amazon HD tablets(7" 8" and 10" since the very first Kindle Fire HD from 2012. This is by far the best all around of the bunch. The USB C connector was a welcome on my HD 8+,and so it is here. Mine came with a charger in the box but,my first shipment did not.(?? check your box). The battery life is a improvement from what my 2017 HD was getting out of the box back then. It's still good now but,the 2019 last longer.I am not much of a game kind of a guy but, on this device and my HD 8+. I find my self wanting to play more because the Game Mode these devices go into when open a game. The performance on games such as Asphalt 8 and many others to be a big improvement over the 2017 HD 10 ,and my old HD 8 from 2016. So to sum this up,I love this upgrade to the HD 10 2019. If you want a device to do most task such as YouTube, Prime Video,Ebooks and maybe some lite work. This device will get you by and not break your piggy bank.btwI did not install the Google Playstore on this device because, I wanted to use it the way it comes from Amazon. Having said that,I have installed it on many of my other Fire devices and it makes very good Fire devices even better.(just putting that out there,because it is out there if you want to) easy peasy....lol

A NICE UPGRADE
I CRACKED THE SCREEN ON MY KINDLE SO I CHOSE THIS ONE TO REPLACE IT AND I AM VERY HAPPY AS THIS ONE WORKS GREAT. THE SCREEN ON THIS ONE IS BIGGER BUT NOT TO BIG ~~ THE PICTURE IS CLEAR AND THE SOUND IS WONDERFUL. I HAVE HAD NO ISSUES WITH THE VIDEOS OR SOUND SKIPPING SKIPPING. OVERALL I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS VERSION TO ANYONE ON A BUDGET LOOKING TO UPGRADE THEIR KINDLE.

Worth the purchase
I was returning this one I bought the wrong one this is the old one but it was going crazy, would not scroll, Voice command would go off and I just could not get it to work function correctly. After the 3rd person tried, she was able to get it to work. So I gave it to her. I am going to upgrade and replace the stolen one and get the plus! I find I liked the split screen on the 2021. 2019 doesn't spilt! These are sturdy tablets and screen is really nice especially for the price. I didn't add google to either due I can use my phone for YouTube or just be fine with two channels, extra work but doable! I could just buy a Samsung but I am an Amazon user and main reason I buying fire is because I buy books on kindle. I have a small kindle I can't throw in my purse but this tablets are to work and read! I wish they would just put better camera on them. Going to see if I can add a camera and if do these tablets run flawless on android 9 pie. That could also be improved but for the price I won't complain. I will buy them from this point on. Soon as they put out a new one this next one will be gifted as well.If you are considering a tablet and don't need all the bells and whistles this one is great. And it has bells and whistles just different ones.Refurbished idk how long they last but I'd buy the warranty and not add google for awhile if you do but it most likely will void the warranty, so that's a though to keep in mind! If you want google you might watch Afew reviews and see if they are still working. Refurb, I buy often but not a fire, first one taken & I hope it stops working just because it's not theirs!Buy a fire, Amazon Prime tv looks and place great on the fire.Alexa works very well also!!

Just like new!!
I replaced an HD10 tablet (2017) with this 10 (2019). My HD10 was working fine until I dropped it and shattered the screen. I didn't realize it had no screen protector. This 10'looks brand new and my only complaint is a couple preloaded programs ( offering trial subscriptions ) that I am unable to delete from front screen. My solution was to create a junk folder and drag them into that one box. Other than that, everything works fine and I made sure and put a screen shield on this one.
