Better than expected!
Was going to buy the Athlon Talos but decided to move up to the Argos instead and glad I did. A friend has the Talos and so I was able to see it in action. Decided to get the Argos and am very pleased with it. Clear glass, entire power range is usable and controls are very smooth.

Large Eye Piece and Long Eye Relief
As others have mentioned, the eye piece is ridiculously wide and an eye relief distance that requires you to hover your head in just the right spot, I had a hard time getting a full view of a blue heron at +/-125 yards. That was with the scope on a tripod. Even worse when you use full zoom. When I could get a few seconds of clear view at max zoom, it wasn't sharp. I returned it. I'll try and catch a Vortex Diamondback on sale, or a Crossfire for similar price. Maybe my expectations are too high for a $315 scope, but shouldn't you have a clear view on max zoom at just 125 yards? That doesn't seem unreasonable.I would have given it 2.5 stars if I could. I didn't want to trash Athlon when I might be expecting too much. The thing is heavy and seemed to be well built.

Just buy it! You’ll love it!
This is a great spotting scope! We’ve taken it on several excursions to Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and the Badlands. I would estimate you can see about a mile off with the scope (wildlife will be small at a mile, obviously!) If you want a phone mount for the eyepiece, which I highly recommend, be aware that the eyepiece on this scope is pretty wide. Most phone mounts won’t fit on the eyepiece well. Other than that, we like this scope a lot! It’s a heavy rig, so make sure you have a sturdy tripod with a good head. The scope case is a nice bonus for those (like us) who travel. We tuck it carefully in our carry-on suitcase and it travels fine. The display is pretty bright and clear. If you’re looking at things from far off, you will get wavy lines of heat. That’s unavoidable and it’s not the scope’s fault!Overall, I’d definitely recommend this scope. We’ve gotten a lot of enjoyment from it!

Very clear and big image for the money spent!
Nothing but good things to say about this spotter. This one lines right up beside the vortex diamondback if not better. Super happy with the clarity for no more money than I spent. I thought I was going to have to spend thousands to see miles but with this I didn’t have to.

Very nice spotting scope for the price point
Very nice quality spotting scope for the price point. Glass is very clear and features of this scope rival higher price competitors. If you are needing to see target strikes out to 200ish yards ( and I am talking bullet hole strikes in paper) with no trouble, then this scope is for you.

Great value spotting scope
I needed a decent spotting scope for 200-300 yard range work. This works great. I really like the ability to rotate the eyepiece on the bench. We use it at the beach as well to watch whales, dolphins, sea otters and sail boats.
