Works... After Upgrade/Repair
This is quick and simple for the kids to use, and they can take it where they need it. It works good and is useful.The problem is that it's cheaply made. It was knocked off of a lap onto a book and broke half the solder connections for the battery/motor, which rendered it useless. I took it apart and found that all the soldered connections were extremely subpar... I repaired the weak broken connections and reinforced the other pathetic connections with the appropriate amount of solder. Works great now and is as durable as it should've been originally.If you're unable or unwilling to make those repairs, I would look for something with a little more quality.Having said that, this works great now and is everything we needed for a good price.

Poor product!
This unit is compact, and easy to use. The issue is that it doesn’t trim well at all. I use regular pencils, and many colored pencils… but my opinion is that the unit has two faults. The cutting edges are not sufficient, and this is emphasized by the unit being woefully underpowered. I long for an old style manual sharpener.

Bostitch Underpowered Pencil Sharpener
No instructions on changing cutter assembly. I had to do this to make the sharpener compatible with standard American pencils. With only 2 cutting blades I foresee the blades becoming dull at an early age. My previous sharpener was a Panasonic that worked great for over 20 years.

It's small, it's battery operated (a couple AAs), it comes with an extra sharpening head and it works way better than I was expecting it to, you know, given the price and all.This is a really good pencil sharpener and I recommend it.
