It works perfectly in my Samsung Galaxy Tab S
This works perfectly and was easier to install than I thought it would be. Note that if you are careful, some connection do NOT need to be opened. The biggest problem? The four pin connection to the tablet. It SEEMS to connect but it really needs to be seated. With all that said, the REAL problem was the USB connector. If all points of the USB are not reasonably tight, it may look like the battery is the problem. After I replaced the battery, it still wouldn't charge right and replacing the USB cable instantly fixed the problem. I didn't do that replacement, but it may not be as bad as I thought it was.So, do NOT throw away your old battery. You may find it is the USB port being loose. Plus, the battery should be tossed properly - not in a landfill. We have an electronics recycling drop in my city and that's where I send most batteries and electronic components, so for me, it's easy.

I'm just sad..
Lack of quality and true about this item because as the pictures show that this item is not 7900 mAh but as I found printed by whatever manufacturing plant makes the individual cells they printed on there(even though it took a magnifying glass to read it) that each cell is 3830 milliamp hours and if you double that to make this battery, it only adds up to 7660 mAh, I can understand rounding up but this is 240 mAh! The second most important thing was when I inspected this battery closely as to its connections I noticed that not only that there was undo pressure on the connectors which may cause problems internally inside the cells but that one of the connectors wasn't soldered in which would have been dangerous if I had installed this in my device or at the very least created an unsecured/unreliable connection. Given these two factors I wonder if this battery is even lithium-polymer as they claim. I don't know, but they lied, with that fact I asked "did they just put some sticker on a lithium ion battery just so they can make more money?", I don't know for certain but these are the facts of the item I received.

Battery or bad connector on the main board
Just a reference for others that might be having the same problem with their Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5. I had a problem where the battery would get hot. The battery indicator would go from 100% to nothing very quickly, random reboots, lines on the screen, the device would get hot, battery wouldn't charge, battery wouldn't stay charged. It was strange. I found a reference online where someone suggested that the battery connector on the main board needed to be resoldered. That was it. I bought the battery just in case the battery was bad--I only wanted to take it apart once. I took everything apart (videos online) with the tools in the kit. I found that the battery connector on the main board was broken loose, classic cold solder joint. The connector would actually flex up. I had to use a microscope, but could see the cracks in the solder. Heated up all the pins with flux and additional solder, and it fixed the problem.4-start. The fit of the new battery wasn't perfect, one of the four screw holes that secure the battery in place did not line up. Not a big deal in my opinion. So far the battery is working fine.

So far so good
It's been a couple of days and my tablet's battery life is vastly improved over the old original. The plastic tools it came with to pry open the case wore down to nubs. There were these plastic "guitar pick" looking things that I assumed were for a later step, but in retrospect they would have been perfect. I used the tiny flathead screwdriver to help pry off the rest of the cover and it left a couple of permanent dings in the metal lining. My fault, don't replicate! The whole process took maybe 20 minutes including watching a video on Youtube. Another note, at first the battery appeared to drop as quickly as my old one, but I think it was just the software on the tablet estimating based off of past performance. You can "calibrate" the battery gauge by charging it, using it to zero, charging it again and resetting it.

Didn't work for me
I installed the battery in my tablet which was fairly simple as long as you're careful. Remember to disconnect the old battery first when you get the cover off before removing other ribbon cables. I charged it to 100% and within 20-30 minutes of use, it shut down on me with no battery reserves. Now, I contacted the company and they responded quickly and offered a replacement, but I chose not to.I gave the mid score because the process and dealings with this vendor went well and tried to take care of me.

Perfect fit!
The new battery has been in the Tab for about a week, and everything seems fine. The instructions and materials sent were very helpful and the replacement battery fit perfectly. I did run into a minor glitch with reconnecting the cables but got that straightened out after a try or two. This is a pretty easy project to accomplish and saved me a bunch of money!

new battery behaves poorly
I ordered this because my old battery - more than 5 years old - was not holding a charge well any more. It would run down quickly so I figured it was time for a new battery. Installation was not hard. I made sure I was well grounded because the biggest risk in this type of operation is probably static discharge from person to electronics. (Even a very small spark can be damaging.) The new battery is just not very good. Just sitting there with the tablet in sleep mode, it drops about 10% or 15% in a day. In it's youth the old battery was much better than that, loosing just a 2% or 3% in a day. So I don't think this is a new battery. By that I mean it is not of new manufacture. It's probably been sitting on a shelf for years.

Not good.
This battery did not fit properly. The screw holes were not aligned very well . I was able to get the screws installed with some forcing. The tablet would not work properly. The tablet did turn on but the return , home and open windows functions did not work. The shut down control didn't work either. I removed the battery and installed the old one. It works fine on the old battery. I am going to return this battery.
