I'm a journaling snob --I'm very picky about the books I use for my journals, the quality of the paper and the durability of the covers, the sturdiness of the binding and where it's made. I may have mentioned that before, in a review of this item in a different colour. Still valid, however.That said, this item is just as wonderful as its counterparts. The binding is sturdy (though I did have one in another colour that developed a tear halfway down the outside of the binding halfway through the book. I'm not sure why, either). The covers are stiff enough to make journaling in the car easier (I carry my journal with me just about everywhere and hour long lunches tend to see me filling the time with writing) and the paper is a good quality (the pens I use, Pilot G-2s don't bleed through) though I'm one of those people with loopy handwriting and would like to see a version where the lines are a little bit wider. The back cover has a pocket to store loose notes and whatnot, too! And the elastic band that keeps it closed is very handy and matches with the fabric place marker. And it's made right here in the US of recycled material!The Ecosystem journals really do have everything I look for in a journal and I'm so glad I found them. I will continue to use them for a long time to come.

Great product, Made In USA using best quality paper. It is an absolute must for anyone using a fountain pen!! However it is too bad, but I have feeling that Ecosystem Journals won't be around for much longer, since they owned by same corporation that owns Barns & Noble , and anyone who ever stepped in that book store knows how much more they are committed to Chinese made Moleskin...

my second one of these. So well constructed, great paper quality, perforated pages for when you need to remove something, and good looking too! Worth the money.

I'm a paper-obsessed in a twofold way: I like high-quality paper and I'm deeply concerned about paper-waste and recycling. I think this notebook is just the perfect answer that meets both my needs. I've carried it with me everyday in my tote (I've used it as my personal journal) for an entire year and the cover and the binding are still perfect, sturdy and compact like when it first arrived. The thick paper lets you use gel inks, ballpoints and fountain pens without bleeding or showthrough. And the fact that is 100% made of recycled paper means that you're buying a completely environment-friendly product - something we all should care about. I'm definitely going to buy many others Ecosystem journals (in different colours), this size is perfect for journaling/scrapbooking and the bigger one is particularly suitable for notetaking.
