Kristen Ess hair gloss
Omg so I absolutely loved this. I’m a natural strawberry blonde. I was very hesitant on using anything considering I’ve never died or done anything to my hair before. This has a lot more of an orange color tone so if you’re looking for more of a red, I would not recommend this specific color. It took very heavily to the blonde tones in my hair, especially my roots, not so much that ends of my hair. But I absolutely loved it. It made my hair much more vibrant. It kinda reminds me of the same exact color. It used to be when I was younger. I noticed as a redhead the older you get the more the red pigment in your hair kinda settles down if that makes sense. But I would 10/10 recommend!!

Great product, only thing that has worked
I was tired of paying someone to cover my couple of grays and to punch up my fading red only to find that it did not even work.Ladies, this stuff is incredible. Every single gray is gone and my color and shine is back. It has been three weeks and still looks good.I have very long hair ( to the bottom end of my back) and the package was more than enough to cover all my hairIf nothing else has worked give this a try!

Great for dull, brassy red hair
Just finished applying this and ran to Amazon to post a review.ProsEasy to useCost effectiveEasy to clean from the tub (dye spots were rinsed off immediately). My hair looks more vibrant and less dull, more like the shade it was years ago.The box says it doesn't cover grays but definitely can see a positive difference.Noticeable shine right after hair drying. Can't comment on dye transfer after shampooing/conditioning (use a dark towel!)ConsMade my scalp itchyThe cap got torn off because it wasn't clear if it was supposed to stay on or off.I'll come back to update this in a week or two..

Beautiful color, value for your money.
For the price, I was shocked at the results! The color is so beautiful and it enhanced my natural red hair and made it more vivid. I’m not really sure if it’s gonna damage my hair or not in the long run but the color is stunning. I got a gloss treatment before at the salon for $60 and this is just as good!

Way better “Cowboy Copper” than Overtone and Keracolor
Okay so I used a mix of Overtone’s Ginger and Honey Blonde for ever to get a slightly more vibrant ginger color from my natural ginger, until they discontinued Honey Blonde. Then I went to Keracolor’s Copper and Honey, but the price for the honey recently skyrocketed from like $20 per 33oz bottle to nearly $60! I also had a lot of trouble with both transferring on my pillows or knit hats, even when I wasn’t sweating and my hair wasn’t wet, and the color faded quickly with washes.I was really nervous to try the Kristen Ess Copper Penny, especially because I was only buying the 1 bottle and not mixing anything since I’m sick of doing that. I was nervous it would come out orange like the other two brands when not mixed. But, it’s winter and I’m not going out much so I figured what do I have to lose. When I first saw the color in the bottle I was very nervous- it was a DARK orangey color. It also had an odd lemony chemical smell which I didn’t love. The texture is definitely runny, im used to a thicker conditioner like consistency. The only bottle was plenty for my very thin hair, but if I had any more hair than I do I would need at least another bottle to get full coverage. I did apply it dry even though the directions say to do it wet, so that probably affected how far it went. For my hair applying glosses dry helps them last a lot longer.I left it on for the recommended amount of time, and rinsed with cold water. It took for EVER to rise out fully, which surprised me, but no biggie. I used an old orange pool towel to dry, and some color definitely transferred to that, but once it was dry I was OBSESSED. It’s the perfect shade of ginger for me. I’ve gotten tons of compliments on it from family and friends.I try not to wash my hair too much in general, but I have washed it once pretty thoroughly with hot water since applying. It did transfer to the towel again, but I don’t notice any difference in the color of my hair since then. It also has not transferred to any of my sheets or anything while I’m sleeping- Mega win!!My hair is soft, shiny and feels very healthy. If you’re looking for a solid, decently lasting Cowboy Copper type color, Kristen Ess is where it’s at.

Love this product!
I have used this product twice. It's lasted about 4-6 weeks each time. I do have naturally red hair, but as I've gotten older, it's tone has changed and looks somewhat muted. This gloss really gives it a bright, vibrant tone. I love it, it's a great way to brighten it up sometimes and it reasonably priced and has not had a damaging effect on my hair thus far.

Not for natural strawberry blondes
So the product itself was good, easy to use. I did a test on ends from back of hair and had no issue. But I’m a natural redhead with the fade to white that occurs in 50’s and wanted a little refresher of my copper. Well it didn’t go so well around the roots, as you can see. That went orange, like Heat Miser from the Christmas cartoon. I only left it on for 8 minutes, as I just wanted a subtle color. Went out and purchased this brands clarifying shampoo, which smells wonderful, have done four 30 minutes treatments with cap on to try and tone it down. It’s better, but still the color is holding strong.Bottom line will not be purchasing this again. However if you’re a natural darker redhead this might work great, just not recommending for natural strawberry.
