Timex Expedition Sierra ChronographTW4B014009JMy latest addition to the TX collection. This is not your average timex watch. It features a quite a few distinctive features that sets it apart from the rest of the Expedition collection. Partial hollow hands gives it a distinct look.To begin with, the added weight of the stainless-steel case give it that serious feel that my other expedition tickers lack. The styling is of the dial is what initially attracted me to this watch, military inspired 12, 3, 6, 9 configurations, date window at 4 o’clock. 10 o’clock sub dial measures minutes (up to 30), 2 o’clock measures 20ths of a second and the 6 o’clock sub dial is the minute hand.Very glad that all the hands point exactly to all the markers with no deviation around the dial, contrary to my other tx expeditions that hit the markers in some parts of the dial and miss it in others. The mineral glass dial is recessed under the non-rotating bezel just enough to protect the glass against scratches. The leather strap measures 22mm width with a two tone (black and brown underneath), thick and very comfortable band. It is also engraved with the expedition E Logo. The stitching is very well made.The second hand chrono was not pointing at 12 o’clock when I opened the box, but a quick search for the manual and it was a breeze to set all the chrono hands. They all line up perfectly. Since this watch does not have quick date, position B triggers the hour hand only that must be turn to set the date; never seen a hour hand that disengaged the minute hand.This watch has the added bonus of a Night Time Indiglo function which disables the chrono for 8 hours and pushing any button triggers Indiglo. Useful function at night time.Summary: I am very happy with the piece and quite surprised with the quality and feel to it. Take the Timex and Expedition out of the face and this could pass for a higher-level brand costing much more. I am very pleased with the quality of the leather band Fossil prides themselves with their leather, but both of my Swiss Made Fossil’s got off OEM really quick. I needed a tough dependable watch for my job, so far it hasn't let me down. It looks good and keep accurate time, the only gripe l have is that the middle seconds sweeper only functions in chronograph mode it would have been better if it swept in time mode instead of the seconds sweeper situated at the 6 o'clock position as in vintage wrist watches, it's a little to hard to read.

I got this watch a while back and I haven't had a single issue with it. This rugged beauty is built extremely well and I would get this again. My only complaint was chronograph hands were off by one tick. Very bothersome but not of notable notice for me because I didn't utilise it very much. Strap was comfortable, the bezel helped protect the glass on multiple occasions and most importantly it's a great value for the price

This is a nice, solid watch from Timex. All the functions worked and is keeping excellent time. I wear it 24/7, doing everything from cutting brush in the rain to cooking meals and it hasn't misses a beat. I would have given it 5 stars if the band had been 100% leather, but it's a nylon band with leather overlays.

Great looking watch, and tells correct time so far! The push-button light works great no matter how dark it is! It's nice to have a stopwatch, but it uses hands instead of digital, so tough to time short activities (40 yd dash, for instance). Frankly, though, I bought it to tell time and it does that well. If you have huge wrists, you might consider that the band isn't overly long. My wrist is a bit larger than average, but I'm on the second to last hole--and the band barely makes it around. Just pointing out some things. For me, totally satisfied!

WARNING: I am a long time Timex Watch fan. Sadly, the love affair with this thing was over in less than an hour... I took it out of the box and began to set the time.. I pulled the crown and began to turn it, and immediately noticed that the hour and minute hands moved at the same ratio, as though they were chasing each other around the face at the same speed, like they were static or stationery on the same gear... not good... I pushed the crown back in and pulled it back out and started to set the time again, but this time, only the "hour hand" moved... Whats this..???? I've owned timex watches since my dad first gave me one in 1965... never saw one do that.. the minute hand stayed still but the hour hand can move either way with no change in the positioning of the minute hand, then the second had stopped and started back minutes later while I was looking at the thing... I remembered reading in the reviews that another person had basically the same problem, leading me to believe that I was likely sent that very same broken, and returned watch from Amazon that had been put back in to circulation... This was the second purchase by me of the same "snake bit" style of watch... I have sent both watches back to Amazon... for restock and recirculation.... and more than likely, coming soon to your mailbox.. so be aware... the return was very easy... but the whole deal was frustrating... two identical watches.. one was the wrong color, the next one was broken... good luck... the others may be just fine and I may have simply received a fluke.. who knows.. I ordered a totally different Timex chronograph this time...but not a Sierra, it was no fun..

Didn't expect the "seconds" hand is not moving on "time keeping" function and will only be useful if you're in tachy mode. But over all a well built and premium watch.

I enjoy the watch very much, it's my everyday watch. Just worried that like so many Timex watches it's very hard to find replacement watch bands.
