Orolay Women's Thickened Down Jacket Winter Warm Down Coat

Great Coat!
I just received the Orolay Down Jacket, and it appears to be a great winter coat--looks very well made and stylish, esp the rounded hemline. The fabric is very sturdy, maybe a little stiff, and the zipper was a bit hesitant. I might have to soap it up. Fair price too. Update: Two days after receiving coat, I removed fur from hood and washed this 'down' coat in warm water and dried it on high heat setting--because every new item that touches one's skin should be washed before using, of course. The problem is that I somehow forgot it was down-filled because I had been looking exclusively at polyester-filled, washable quilted coats. While it was drying, I remembered that I'd made an exception and decided to buy this coat because I so liked the style and the length. How relieved I was to take it from the dryer looking like it did when I put it in the washer! Washing directions aren't included in the description, but there is a note indicating buyers should refer to the tag inside re. cleaning. All that said, it looks great and fits better because it's just a tad smaller!

The Hood is Huge, but it's super warm
I wore this a few times when we had our really cold weather here in TX this year. We had some subfreezing temps already this year and I was pleasantly surprised by how warm this kept me. I was outside the whole day in 15-22 degree weather and where the coat was covering me I was super toasty. It's not so bulky that i makes you look like the Sta-puft man. My only complaint is the hood is ridiculously large and it hangs over my face, and you really can't pull the draw string because it's an elastic and it doesn't really stay in place. Other than that, it does it's job.

Great alternative to the expensive bird brand!
43° in Lake Tahoe:Light rainI was comfortable and if I moved around a bit, I got pretty warm.Hood stays put and works well, even with a top knot.Front hand pockets were good but would be better if they were at a more natural angle rather than opening straight up.53° but feels like 49° in Dublin Ireland.Intermittently windy and light rain. The front pockets continue to be an irritation. They simply are not a natural way to tuck your hands in for a little extra warmth or comfort. The inside "phone pocket" is just a bit too narrow that you need both hands to manipulate your phone into place, so kind of useless. The larger inside pocket, on the bottom is handy to keep your valuables safe. It is large enough for a passport with a cover if necessary. The upper outer zip pockets fit my small, flip wallet or my phone.Note on all the pockets, don't overload them with gear and items if you want to maintain a slimmer silhouette.Note on the waist shaping elastic cords. They cause the bottom to bunch and bulk in somewhat unflattering ways. I prefer to leave them uncinched. However, in the wind, I cinched them tight to keep the wind from flowing through my hood and down the bottom and vice versa.Note on the zipper. It is a good sturdy zipper but as a right handed person, the zipper feels "backwards" to me. The zipper comes up plenty high so you don't necessarily need a scarf but I wore one when not wearing the hood up. The inside was comfortable and did not irritate my chin or face at all.The hood performed really well, it stayed where I placed it and kept the rain off my face. I removed the fur since I knew it would rain and didn't want to look like a drowned animal.43° Ireland coast, Cliffs at the Moher:Moderate to heavy rain and wind at 16 mph gusting up to 40 mph. Along with the coat I wore an insulated base layer shirt and tights (also found on Amazon for $20), waterproof hiking pants, beanie, gloves, thermal socks (found on Amazon) and rainboots. The hood, completely zipped up, exceeded expectations and I was dry and comfortable. Just be careful when zipping the hood up all the way, I caught my chin a couple times. I recommend looking up towards the sky to complete the full hood zip.I stayed dry, warm and the coat dried quickly. If the coat had mittens with the same material and had naturally angled front pockets, it would be perfect! For the price, this is an excellent coat and I would buy it again. For those of you looking to find an alternative to that expensive bird brand, this is as good as it will get. You can also look up on YouTube how to DIY some shoulder straps if you want.If I head to the snow, I will update.

Warm,
I love my coat. It breaks wind wonderfully. Comfortable, light weight, almost to my knees. Looks nice. Worth every penny.

Great warm coat! Go with your regular size.
I did not go down in size as recommended by other reviewers. I am so glad I went with my normal size which is a size 14. It fits perfect in the arms chest and shoulders. It is a little bit looser towards the bottom but there is a inside cinch string to make it a little snugger in the waist. I am 5‘6“ and I weigh approximately 170. I like to put a sweatshirt underneath once in a while and the jacket fit me perfect! The quality and warmth of this jacket is very good quality. I got the green which is more of a a army green and I love it! I am not crazy about the fake fur around the hood so I did take that off. The hood is big and it comes with drawl strings to adjust it around your head. The front zipper zips all the way up to your chin and I do not need to use a scarf or a hat because the hood is so comfortable and cozy with drawstrings. Another reason I am glad I did not downsize is the sleeve lengths are perfect on me now and I would not want them shorter.

Very warm which is what I was seeking
The two ways zipper is quite helpful. I can have it extended full length for warmth and then unzip from the bottom for ease of getting in and out of my car.

Way too small
I did my research, and looked tirelessly for all the things my daughter wanted in a coat; mid-length, stylish, waterproof, removable hood, two way zip, large pockets...and I read the reviews saying it ran small. So I bought a whole size up. My daughter is an XS (30AA) and this coat was still too small across the chest--so we had to return.

Very flattering and warm.
Love this jacket. Very warm and stylish. I love the length. Just enough “puffiness” without looking fat. Sometimes these puffer jackets can be unflattering, not this one. I love the color of the blue. Also it’s very well made. Zippers are easy and don’t “catch”. As another reviewer mentioned the hood is comically large, but you know it serves it’s purpose in a rain or snow storm. There is no chance your head would get wet. All in all it’s a 300 dollar jacket for only 100. Can’t go wrong.

Order one size larger if you need to layer
This coat is very lovely. I ordered a small but when I got it and tried it on it was tight but still fit. I like to be able to wear a heavy sweater depending on the weather so I returned it and ordered a size medium it still is not as loose as I would like but I can still wear a heavy sweater. I think it’s the style, I recommend this coat because it is very lovely and it is warm as other people that bought the coat said it’s heavy yes it is heavy but it is warm in our climate we need to layer another words. We need a heavy sweater underneath it and one size larger, accommodates that .

Bin total zufrieden mit der Jacke. Sie geht gut über den popo. Hält schön warm. Auch bei starkem Wind ist sie toll. Würde ich sofort nochmal kaufen.
