Easy to use - Easy to clean!
We read all the reviews and finally decided to go with this grill. This was supposed to be an upgrade and replacement for my older Foreman Grill and waffle maker. We are very pleased with our decision. The cooking surface is bigger than our old grill. We can cook 4 chicken breasts or burgers at the same time. Having the ease of removing the plates to clean is a great feature. I hated cleaning my old Foreman grill. I ultimately decided on this grill because of the timer and temp feature. I'm happy with my decision as they both work very well. This Grill makes some of the best waffles I've ever had and it is easy to use. I use 1/2 cup of batter in each side. Be careful on using the recommended time and temp that the book states. We have found that we like our waffles cooked on a lower temp for a few minutes less. The first waffles we made were a bit crunchy. I usually just clean my plates in the sink and I've have yet to have anything stick to them. The nonstick surface works very well and having the option of being dishwasher safe is a bonus. Another upgrade on this grill is the tilt feature. I really like having the option to tilt the grill or cook flat. There are only Two cons to this grill that I have found. The first downfall is the cord is really, really short. It might be a foot and a half long two feet at best. I'm lost on why they would make an appliance with a cord this short. We have a plug under our counter top that we use. The grill has to sit on the edge of the counter to reach the plug and it barely reaches. The second con is that the plates are a bit thinner and lighter than I expected. Its not a big deal but don't order this with the thought that your getting Dutch oven thickness. The plates also don't lineup exact. You can move the grill back and forth a little with lid closed. Not a big deal unless your halfway through cooking a waffle and bump it.All and all I am very happy with my decision to purchase this grill. I would recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their grill. I am happy with my purchase decision and have since bought all the extra plates to use it more. Hope this review helps everyone doing there research.

Works Well
Makes awesome waffles and panini's! My wife and I have had a hard time getting it to cook any meat other than hotdogs with any amount of success. There is an adjustable temperature, but the instructions do not make any recommendations as to what meat should be cooked at what temperature, only how long it should be cooked.

Why???
I have no idea why anyone would buy this unit. The plates tend to shift, the 'elevated' hinge has a tendency to stick,

More of a devolution.
I owned the red G5 "Next Grilleration" grill for 4 years or so. As I used it several times a week, it was beginning to show it's wear, and I was pleased to discover that they were coming out with a new model! Hurrah! I've always liked the GF grills. So I excitedly bought this model, only to be completely disappointed. Sad days were ahead:* It's unwieldy with the way the top plate is hinged from the botton plate SO largely (they were trying to get it to have more of a panini press feel, and failed). It is awkward to open the whole way and close because of said huge hinge since it lacks a handle/bar for opening that you would find on a panini press (and that the previous model had). The hinges, which are plastic or at least plastic covered, also just have a generally cheap feel to them.* Grill plate clips are flimsy and don't line up particularly well. You have to fight the thing to get the plates on and off.* It takes even LONGER than the previous model to heat and cook. It does NOT handle changes in temperature well at all, so if you want to turn it up or down during cooking, don't plan on that going particularly well. The grill does NOT cook evenly - distinct hot and cold spots.* The digital thermostat, in my opinion, is not an improvement - the buttons tend to stick after a few months of use, and it just adds another area of potential errors and problems.* Replacement plates are almost impossible to order should you need them (out of stock for literally 3-4 months at a time).* Non stick coating is MUCH worse than previous models (after putting the plates in the dishwasher once, they lost almost all of their non-stickiness. And yeah, I realize it's better to hand wash, but they ARE supposed to be dishwasher safe.). The more stuff that sticks, the harder it is to clean the already difficult to clean top plate. It quickly becomes a nightmare.Meanwhile, things that should have been improved upon were not: difficult to clean top plate, manual is pathetically vague and practically useless, and even though this model includes an "on/off" button, it's still not really off unless you unplug it.Fortunately for me, while I was moving the box I had it in broke and I dropped the thing a few feet straight down and it completely fell apart - hinges came clean off. Clearly that was my error, not the error of the grill itself, but now I have an excuse to replace it with something different. My suggestion, if you're going to use your grill more than just a few times a month, would be to buy the G5 or find a different brand if you want a larger grill. This one just plain isn't worth the money, and is more hassle than it's worth. A counter-top grill is supposed to make your life easier, not be something you have to fight with on a regular basis!

Nice Grill but...
This is a nice grill. It worked well for us. However, our main plates got damaged and we haven't been able to find a replacement. Outside of that, I really think this is one of the better Foreman grills out there.
