Q: how many belts do I get?

Dale is correct, you need two belts. You need your main serpentine belt that is 92.3” if you have a 105 amp alternator and 93.0” if you have a 130 amp alternator. Your A/C belt will be 37.8” regardless of the size of your main belt and it will go on first. It goes around your crankshaft pully and then around the pully on your A/C compressor and the tension pully mounted on your compressor will push up on the bottom of the belt and tighten it. This will be the same on all 2000-2006 GMC & Chevy 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L V8 Vortec engines. They fit other models like Cadillac and other years on different makes as well but I know 2000-2006 are consistent. You just need to verify the make, year, and size of your motor and the amperage of your alternator to get the correct serpentine belt.
