Textbookish
The book seemed a little long on words and somewhat short on practical, usableinformation. Photos and diagrams are uninspiring...seems like a textbook oracademic work written in the 1960's or 1970's. However, considering I had very little knowledge of green roofs at all...I was able to increase my understanding. There might be other moredynamic titles on the subject available.

This is a good book if you want to know more about the topic, I bought this years ago, and still this is a good reference...

A Good Overall View
This book is a good introduction to a fairly new trend in city living. Looking at the flat space on the top of a building and you can readily see that planting some things up there can provide all kinds of advantages. This includes practical advantages such as better insulation. It also can include an area simply more attractive than the normal roof of a building. Here's a way to get a bit of the countryside into the middle of a city. This book is by an author that has worked on more than fifty green roof projects. As such he can discuss the construction of a green roof from the standpoint of having been there and done that. It's not a detailed construction manual, but instead a conceptual book that will give you an idea of what you can do and how to go about it.

Not really helpful for the green roof build.
Amazon service great as expected. Good work to all the people involved, you need a raise. The book preaches to the unconverted and is more of a backyard do at your own risk sort of guide. It depends what stage you are at, thinking about, planning, building or constructing a lasting green roof.No offense to the authors.Cheers
