AccuQuilt GO! Strip Cutter-2 1/2" (2" Finished) Fabric Cutting Die

Of course I bought this strip to bind my quilts, and I love all of the Accuquilt products, but I also use this strip cutter when I make tee shirts. I make a lot of very light weight knit v-neck tee shirts for scorching hot summer days to wear over camisoles. I use the strip cutter to cut the neck bands. I get perfectly cut bands. It doesn't stretch or destroy the knit in any way. Any time I need a 2 1/2 inch band of any fabric for any reason, I throw it on the strip cutter and into the Accuquilt GO. I am eyeing my 3 1/2 inch strip cutter for waistbands for shorts....I think the Amazon descriptions could be more helpful. When they lumped all of the Accuquilt strip cutters together, we seem to have lost the finished width - the most important piece of info. I believe the following information is somewhere in the descriptions so hopefully this might be helpful where the info is missing: The 1 1/2 strip cutter with a finished width of 1" cuts 5 strips. It is item 55024. The 2 1/2 inch cutter with a finished width of 2" cuts 3 strips. The item number is 55017. The 3 1/2 " strip cutter with a finished width of 3" cuts two strips. The item number is 55017.

This makes my quilting go so much faster by not having to hand cut my saching and binding. It's fun to use. It's easy to store when not in use.

I was glad to find this on Amazon at a significantly lower price than in the shops or from the company. I can't begin to tell you how many strips I've cut with this product. It's accurate, simple, easy and SPEEDY. So much easier than using a rotary cutter. If you have joint issues, this can save your wrists, fingers, and hands because there's no pressure AND you can cut three times the number of strips.There may be a little more waste because of how you place the fabric on the die but there will be fewer mistakes because it cuts a definite 2 1/2" strip each time.I would buy this again.

The AccuQuilt GO! Fabric Cutting Dies, the 2.5" inch make quick work of cutting of fabric. The goal of any person who wants to make quilts is not waste fabric and you do this by making straight cuts and consist cuts. The cutting dies makes accurate cuts every time and since the die can cut up to 6 layers at time it is quick.The blades are sharp so there is not any fabric that has to be cut again. The roller keeps good and even pressure as it pulls the die though. It is a great feeling when it has taken only fraction of the time to get ready to sewing.

Please note this die cut also requires the purchase of a separate mat, adding to the cost.

I researched a lot before investing in the AccQuilt Go and die cutting sets. I went to JoAnns and they let me try the system. I think that it is great. The strip dies are your best value as you can mark your die (go to youtube to see how this is done) and get strips, squares, and diamonds all from the same die. So what is the drawback? I am trading speed for a little more wasted fabric. For me, a slow quilter, the trade off is more than worth it. The other day it took me about a minute to cut all the strips I needed for binding a queen sized quilt.
